not sure I need a second MacReady
Hmmm...a 2pk of Michael and Dr Loomis the Michael not really, but I do like to have Loomis. Ah, decisions.
I wish the Mummy was more than just a teaser
It is nice to see he will have the sarcophagus.
Can anyone suggest a 6"-8" (or so) t-800 endoskeleton? Looking for maximum articulation and accuracy to the "real" thing...if these two considerations aren't mutually exclusive.
Being new to toy collecting, I am unsure if NECA made only one version, or like the Predator, countless versions exist, which is why I"m asking a potentially dumb question.
As far as I know, NECA only made the one version. I have one and it’s just OK. It feels kinda cheap and flimsy, but, it does have a lot of details like hoses, wires and working pistons and linkages. The articulation is kinda limited, though…especially the ankles.
I just want to know if he is going to be more than the mummified form since he was only like that for five minutes.
The Aoshima 1/12 endo is better but has like an anime style to it and goes for way more money than it's really worth. The plastic it's made out of is really cheap too. But it's got really good articulation.
Well how bad could it....(checks prices)
umm...is there anything better than NECA but under (say) 50$?
Apparently McFarlane did one too…similar price and quality as the NECA, it seems.
They couldn't do Childs with the flamethrower. Or Nauls on skates or Blair with an ax or even Gary tied to that fucking couch. No, they had to re-release the same exact figure with a new accessory. Lord it's going to suck if they piss away this particular license.
Also, the actual Thing. That's what I want most of all.
Pardon me for being out of the loop, but there are actual Thing figures?
Tell me more please!
Thank you for that. Any ideas what that zombie tiger is the video is? Looks kind of interesting.
NECA hinted at an upcoming Thing figure of the actual Thing in the livestream yesterday.
If I recall, I think they made it sound like it would be a 2022 release.
Patience is a virtue.
I pride myself on never having lost my patience.
In fact, I know where they are all buried!
But in all seriousness, in my short stint collecting figures, I have discovered this: Get it when it's released, or pay 2x on eBay...

This may help. Old video, but accurate.
Neither one is a complete homerun, but neither is a complete disaster. NECA revised the head on theirs at some point over the years to look more aggressive than the one in that video, so you need to pay close attention to pictures to make sure you’re getting the one you actually want. Earlier releases were a bit derpy, later ones look chunkier and angry.
I’ve owned both, and on balance, the McFarlane was my preferred version (the silver paint, better-integrated hands, and better stability did it for me), but NECA’s is taller, better proportioned, and better articulated.
Honestly though, I’d probably just hold off until someone inevitably revisits the T-800 with a new, updated sculpt entirely. Both versions have significant enough flaws to make them compromises, rather than grails.
Thank you kindly for the video, and your experience. I'm somewhat surprised that as "iconic" as the T-800 is, no one has done an affordable one right. I am in no hurry, I can wait for a better one to come along.
