Don't count those chickens just yet. The Lakers just made room for another max deal. ;)

I'm probably in the minority here, but as a Lakers fan, I would rather see them use that max deal money and go after some complementary players, outside shooters and depth to go with LeBron, AD and Kuzma. We don't need another ball-dominant player (Kyrie, Kimba, etc.) that needs to ball in his hands to be effective.

Furthermore, and even further in the minority, I hate super teams, even on my team. I hated when Gary Payton and Karl Malone came to the Lakers.

I was talking to my personal trainer earlier in the week thinking that D'Angelo Russell would make a great addition to the Lakers. Lo and behold, rumors are they're going after him. LOL

I think Russell would be better with AD and LBJ. Plus all the noise that D'loading had with the team the first time around are practically gone now.

On a Warriors note, Klay is getting his max. There's no reason to think otherwise. KD remains a question mark. I honestly don't even think he know himself what he actually wants. But like I said before, if he wants a statue and legacy and all that, then staying with the Warriors is his best bet. Plus the Warriors can offer more money for more years than other teams with the max deal. So if KD leaves, it's not about the money or length of time.

All of that noise is gone since Nick Young is long gone... and he learned a valuable lesson about being a snitch.

I always thought, and even said so here on these boards that the Lakers gave up on Russell too soon. Perhaps they'll have a reprieve.

Not only Swaggy though. I think it had to be some of the other players as well. I mean, Russell really seemed to put himself on an island doing what he did and now that locker room is so drastically different that there shouldn't be residual effects from all that noise.

But in terms of the fit, I do feel like he's a better fit than Kemba or Kyrie in that order.

Looks like Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and DeAndre Jordan are teaming up for the Brooklyn Nets.

They're still not winning the east next year with KD out.

Russell on the Dubs is laughable from a defensive backcourt standpoint but a good consolation prize for not resigning KD.

Farewell, Iggy and KD. It was a fun ride. Thanks for all the memories.

Russell will help offensively until Klay gets back. Then they can move him for assets/salary dump.

I’m gonna miss Iggy more than KD; best of luck to them both.

If you're a Knicks fan at this point... :lolol

    No Zion
    No KD
    No Kyrie
    No AD
    Lose DeAndre

And you learn that Dolan didn't even try to offer a max contract to KD despite years of promising he's gonna bring KD there.

    I mean... :lol

Jerry West leaving the Warriors started their downward turn.

OKC offered a trade that involved PG13 and Russ for Siakam and Toronto turned it down? The WHA?!
