Yesterday, March 7th, was National Cereal Day (believe it or not). National Cereal Day - March 7, 2018 My top 5 all time cereals are: 5. Lucky Charms (They're magically delicious!) 4. Alpha-Bits 3. Froot Loops (Follow my nose, it always knows...) 2. Wheaties 1. Fruity Pebbles (Barney, my Pebbles!) Apple Jacks would be a close #6 followed by Honey Combs and Super Sugar Crisp, now called Super Golden Crisp (or something), which is very similar to Sugar Smacks. "Dig 'em!" This is highly unpopular, but I hated Captain Crunch. All my friends and cousins LOVED it and couldn't understand why I didn't like shredding the roof of my mouth with those mini razor blades. There were cereals that I thought were just okay like Total, Special K, Cheerios, Grape Nuts Flakes and Frosted Flakes, but I thought of those as "old people" cereal because my Dad liked those. I liked Cinnamon Toast Crunch, but not as cereal, as a dry snack. I think the best part about cereals as a kid were the legendary commercials. Practically every sugary cereal had a catchy jingle and a catchphrase. "It's a honey of an O, it's Honey Nut Cheerios!" In addition, all the cereals marketed towards children came with either a toy or a puzzle inside or on the back of the box. I never liked any cereal with chocolate in it. It just never appealed to me or seemed right to eat chocolate for breakfast, so Coco Puffs, Count Chocula, Coco Pops and Cookie Crisp were out. Because of my lactose issues, I ate my cereal using water instead of milk. When my friends would sleep over, it would freak them out and they would look at me like I was the Anti-Christ. What are your favorite cereals?
