Hey guys, I was just over at the Live Action Blog and found this little tid-bit.

"The Linkin Park Times is reporting that the song that Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda has been working on is going to be called "New Divide" and will premiere on radio stations and iTunes worldwide starting May 18th. Also the soundtrack is going to be released on June 23rd, the day before the movie. Thanks to Jose for the link.

According to LPU (Linkin Park Underground, their official website) newsletter the title of Linkin Park's new song is called 'New Divide', it is the theme song and lead single from the upcoming movie Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The song will premiere on radio worldwide on May 18 and will also be available for download on iTunes that same day. Mike says, "The opportunity to be creatively involved with one of the most anticipated films of the summer is pretty exciting. It's one thing to shoot a video that matches sound and vision, but making music that's built for the big screen is a completely different challenge and we ran with it." The movie opens in theatres worldwide on June 24 and the soundtrack will hit the stores on June 23."

So, "New Divide?" Any one care to attempt to glean some plot details from that? ;P

"What I`ve Done" was pure awesomeness in TF1.

The name of the Song reminds me of Sam leaveing BB behind and going to College.

I would love to have some Metallica. Can't quite see them doing Transformers, though. Yet again, Mission: Impossible II... I am also pretty sure that this will be in a similar style to Minutes to Midnight. LP's sound has evolved in that direction and it would be a real shame if they reverted to a pre-Minutes style.

I like LP, just not for this franchise. I didnt like their song for the first movie and did not want them back for the second. Disappointed here.

im all cool with linclon park and all, but i just hope we get a decent transformers theme in this movie. the one from the first movie by mute math, holy shit that was awefull! i wanted to hurl when i heard it!  they need to do one like the lion version. that was a great song  

 

I can't stand Linkin Park and it has always bothered me that the first movie ended with Prime standing on a hill while Sam and Mikaela made out on top of Bumblebee with that LP song playing in the background. I'm hoping it only plays in the credits and not during the actual film, or at least if it does play it is on a car radio, university dorm room or something to that effect and not during an action scene.

I am glad that their fans are getting a new song though and I hope you guys like it, they are just not my thing and I am not trying to hate on them or anything.

 

I wonder if this, too, will sound like Chester Benningsworthfieldton retching into a microphone and coughing up his fail glands.

The placement of "What I've Done" at the very climax of the movie bothered the fuck out of me. It would have been great to hear, oh, I don't know, an ORCHESTRATED ENDING THEME? JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER MOVIE? JABLONSKY'S THEME WAS PERFECT AND THESE WIMPY TEENIEBOPPERS HAVE TO CRAM THEIR WHINY EMO CRAP UP PRIME'S TAILPIPE. UM EXCUSE ME PRIME IS TRYING TO SPEECH OK DO NOT INTERRUPT OPTIMUS PRIME K THX YOU CAN TELL HIM WHAT YOU'VE DONE LATER K?

wow i hear this from like... 10 out of 10 people, and its TRUE! that mutemath garbage... they must have actualy paid paramount to get the song on the cd, or whoever they would need to pay off to get that crappola song on the cd
