Finally taking this idea off the backburner and making my Mystery Machine Transformer out of an MP Ironhide.

I have the blue done aside from touchups and I'm starting in on the green. (And yes, I have the spare tire for the front as well. I have to say this was a literal pain in the ass to take apart and paint, especially taking pins out and putting them back in. I'm down a front tire from the plastic snapping while getting the pin out of the hinge (anyone know a fix?)

Once I get him done I'll convert to vehicle mode and get to the details.

The bigger looking question. I'm not going with a different head or anything so do I just call him Mystery Machine Ironhide, or try and be clever and give him an original name like Enigma or something else?

This is great, I'm looking forward to seeing how he turns out. I always renamed my Mediabots as different characters, Enigma sounds like a pretty good option!

Mystery Machine Ironhide. No special name. Just like MP Optimus Prime Ghostbusters edition. He didn’t get a name change either:cool:

as for tire fix there are upgrade kits to get rid of the hip skirts. They come with new wheels and are excellent both in quality and application. I think I have the shadow fisher sets for mine.

I am curious to see what you are going to do with SIEGE Cog's/Aragon's tracks painted in the colors of the Mystery Machine's flower.

For a name I'd like to what you or the others in this thread here could come up with. The name that came to my mind first was Iron Mystery. Sounds cool but Idk if it fits.

I was looking for a plastic melting/fusing glue for a while now and I finally found one: Tamiya Cement. It melts plastic so you can fuse the parts together. Maybe this stuff can help you. The one with the white cap is a bit thicker. If you need something for tight gaps/cracks use the one with the green cap labled Extra Thin.

Neat! For a name, you could always pull something from the show... Vincent Van-Ghoul from the 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo or Mr. E from Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated would be my top picks.

I guess after every time you transformed it you have to comepletely make the touch ups again :p

But it looks pretty nice so far :thumbs2:

It depends on if it's Ironhide painted to be the Mystery Machine, or if it's the Mystery Machine being granted a bot mode.

If he's a new character like Ectotron: "Jinkies."

(And, just to put it out there)
    - KITT would keep his name.
    - Airwolf would keep his name.
    - The DeLorean would be "Gigawatt."
    - The A-Team van would be Mohawk.

    Did I miss anyone?

We all know that a mystery machine transformer would be called "Meddler"

General Lee- self explanatory. But if it’s a non original character, I’d use “Cliffjumper “. YeeHaw!

Back on topic, if this guy had a different head I would think it may warrant a new name. Right now it looks like a blue Ironhide.

Damn, you got me there. Mind if I borrow it? It has a better ring than anything else.

He's a little rough around the edges, I'll clean him up and post more photos later. So far I snapped the front right wheel off at the hinge and the left arm also snapped at the hinge. Luckily the parts slot in for bot mode so it's not a total loss.

Has there been a Transformer with both a literal and figurative spear tire before?

Maybe Meddler could be the name of his minoin/sidekick, modeled after Scooby Doo... too bad the WFC disc Ravage is too large to be the spare tire...
