I have had problems for about a year now with Myspace and the best they can do is...next to nothing.
I cannot log in to my account. period.
When i enter my name and password, i get:

"YOU MUST BE LOGGED-IN TO DO THAT"
and i am not even logged in.

i have done everything they tell me.
deleted cookies, history, changed security settings. even deleted both Firefox and IE from my computer and reinstalled them.

i have been to multiple computers, from as far away as 40 miles at a local college just trying to get in my own damned world there and nothing.

anyone got any clues or suggestions?

    thanks.

Well, my first bit of advice would be to get as far away from Myspace as possible.

But if you actually have friends and crap on there, I'd have to guess maybe you have the wrong username or password.

They might have jacked your password. One time (when I was using it....sadly) one clever bastard faked a log in page using code put in your profile. It generated the login page but when you put in your info it took it. This allowed them to spam my profile with ads and such. Just recover your password (if you haven't done that) or create a new one. See if you can view your profile from another person's perspective. See if you have spam and such.

i guess if i can ever get customer support to work and let me back in to my own account, i will just copy everything, then delete the whole she-bang.
at the moment, i cannot even create a new account or delete my current account.

as for the username/password- that isn't the problem. i have all that info on paper and in a backup .rtf file just in case.

i had changed my password, changed my privacy settings, did all i could to stop spam and requests from people other than my close friends. this is such BS.
    ugh.
    thanks for the help here.

OK, I don't mean this in a "did you turn your computer on" sorta way, but I had this problem once. Fixed it by not hitting enter after typing in my password, but rather, independently clicking "Login" with my mouse.

That, and have you recently viewed your site to confirm that it hasn't been deleted?

Yeah MySpace support is crap, I never got a reason why my music profile was deleted. There was nothing offensive and all the music on it was original. Idiots.

Facebook's like the Mac to MySpace's PC. I started with one, and I just feel weird about switching to the other.

okay, i deleted my account, have basically ran my pc through the cleaners just to remove mal/spyware and in a couple days will create a new account.
i have a facebook account, but my friends, the ones that i need to keep in touch with, never use it and i have to stick to Myspace.

what pisses me off is that i have sent about 3 dozen emails to them and per instructions, i go into thorough detail about my problem and i still get the form letter:
Did you turn your computer on before loggin in?
Did you read your name off your work shirt to make sure you spelled it right?
    (Like "JOE" is hard....)
Did you sacrifice a virgin to us first?

just wish the bastards would stop chugging Mountain Dew and listening to Franz Ferdinand (sorry to whoever likes that band) long enough to respect intelligence.
i have to say that i have had NO bad experience ever with Facebook.
