Thanks for the help. I'm a bit confused though. Are you saying that i need to use the entire bottle of dye? Anyway, I think I'll give dying it a miss. It's too expensive, what with the dye, extra pots etc. I live in a flat with white walls and floors and it doesn't seem worth it. I'll probably just paint them black and maybe use a thin layer or so of black paint for the handles, it use black ink to give a slightly dyed effect.
Okay. I was able to get the order placed. I never heard back from Shapeways themselves about the shipping option glitch, but I decided to try placing an order again and because they sent me a promo code to use. If you would like I can post pictures of the finished product after I received and painted the parts. Cheers.
wait windows 10 3D scan app? did i miss something, i know i could Google it but rather hear it from you a 3D master of time and space!
I'd really appreciate seeing your photo's. I mean, I think it'll be interesting to see how these sets will look amongst other people's Transformers collections. And again: Thank you for your purchase. @Slaglock : Well.... I think it's better to have the shade a little bit too light than too dark, because in the latter case, it's hard to see the details. I think you did your dye well This is also the reason why I'm going to do a new dye on a fresh set. Mine were a little too dark. For myself, I'll just see this as a dye-learning experience. Because prior to this I was apprehensive about dyeing, only doing brush and aerosol painting. I'm glad I have overcome that apprehension. @G60Force : It's about this upcoming Windows 10 app. Supposedly in The creator's update : So far, all of my projects have been done with a simple set square/set triangle and 2D scans, for all my meassurements. I have been looking into 3D scanners' price range inbetween 350 - 500 dollar, but none of those offer the kind of toy scale accuracy necessary for precise meassurements. By any indication, the demo in that video, seemingly looks to come near the accuracy of 13K USD Artec scanners..... We'll have to wait and see when it launches in ...April or May I believe.
"tow/toe winch" - no pun intended? This set looks amazing & thanks for the dedication - makes me wish I hadn't passed on this figure.
im gona have to save for another complete set for my nemesis powermaster.. dyeing black will be much easier lol
The Rit DyeMore 'Graphite' (black) is a really dominant dye. It easily overpowered the teal dye in my mix. So if you get the water boiling really hot, your dyebath should have them black real quick.
You mean... like a substitute for the titanmaster in the mask ? Sorry, I haven't made plans for such a thing - especially because there's the Perfect Effect PC-15 kit available.
wat im doing is getting a piece of cardstock painting it chrome with clear red and attaching it to the back of the helmet. i'll post a pic if its ok with Mr. Knoted
