Update 3 (Final?) 2/10/2017: My TR Galvatron upgrades/mods
Head and neck units work perfectly without modification, back vernier part tested and finalized.

Update 1/30/17: My TR Galvatron upgrades/mods

I started on this a few months ago and finally got to the prototyping stage. The full idea is to make two Shapeways kits: A new headsculpt with an optional titanmaster "head" to connect it with, and a complete neck module replacement that folds the head into the body cavity.

Unfortunately neither neck connector works properly yet. On the bright side, the head is perfect and can use Nucleon's head with no modifications, which is why I've gone ahead and released it ahead of the rest: Alternate Head for Titans Return Galvatron by energonhotshot04 on Shapeways

So, what's wrong with the neck parts? Well, I made the square block connector
a little too large and forgot the little hole in the back. As for the neck replacement, it, uh, looks like a turtle neck.

    The basic concept works, though:

What I'm thinking of doing is making the neck plate thinner and remodeling it to line up with Galvatron's collar detail. I also have a few more Titans Return parts in the pipeline, which I'll make separate threads for later.

Keep up the effort for improvements. Looks pretty good so far.

I've been doing revision after revision of my PMOP arm fillers too, but getting close to 'perfection' now.

The helmet looks quite nice, but the proportions are off a bit. It needs more cranium above the eye-line. There should be the same amount of distance from the eyes to chin as there is from the eyes to the top of the head. It may be the angle, but as it looks, it should have another milimeter or two on top.
Still, I really like the face sculpt.

I'm absolutely down for this, and if you keep making replacement heads for non-Headmaster characters you're filling a big gap in the market.

Good work, I had the same idea for a folding neck plate I was even wondering if I could still use the spring for it but alas I lack the 3d expertise to craft these ideas, looking forward to seeing how this pans out :)

Here's the model straight-on with 2d perspective enabled. The eyes start at about midpoint. It's not as off-center as my photos made it seem, but maybe it could use a couple of millimeters? Let me know what you think.

I had this same idea, but I'm not proficient in 3D modeling. I'm gunna keep a good eye on this so I can get it for my Galvatron. Keep up the good work!

While I've never adhered to the 'Eyes in the middle' rule, I think it could use abit more forehead. Which would also give room to tilt the eyes to aquire a more angry look. They currently look 'pensive'.

Oh Matrix, dude, that's incredible!! :)
    I need this!!! :)  :)  :)

btw, does it leave enough clearance for the cannon to fit in alt-mode?

I'll add a little more height to the dome, then. I actually was going for a "pensive" look since it's a more neutral expression.

I estimate that it can still connect, but not quite as tightly as before. It shouldn't fall out, though.

I was considering adding a 1mm plate to the back of the neck assembly with a 5mm hole extension, but I just remembered that this figure has a jet mode and that would heavily interfere with the nosecone hinge. I'd completely forgotten about it since I pushed the pin out of the back assembly last month and put it in a drawer. I think the figure looks better afterwards, but I understand that's just my opinion.

As-is I think the jet nose will point down slightly. The figure's sculpt allows for the 1mm grey disk, but my kit adds another millimeter in height and much more radius.

That's the plan. It'll be on Shapeways once I make sure everything works properly.

I'd be down for one or more of those neck/collar assemblies at least. Is it designed to work only with your head design, or can a regular titanmaster be used or adapted?

I'm trying to make the balljoint the same size as the one in Titanmaster necks, so in theory you could disassemble Nucleon and reassemble the body around the joint, or you can use someone else's head design as long as it's designed with the same joint size.

Kewl. I'll definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for a final, purchasable version then.

And I'm done with my revisions. The order is placed and it's supposed to ship at the end of the month.

I believe the general consensus among owners willing to mod their Galvatron is that the Jet mode is gratuitous. Unwanted, even.
Would it be a lot of trouble to make 2 separate neck kits: 1 to respect the jet-mode and 1 without?

That said, I wonder if the weight of the cannon would stress on the neck kit if you added the extension hole.
