What do you guys think? Waste of time and a leader class fig when I get it, or a good idea? (Note: the image was cut in halve and mirrored for symmetry.) Most likely, I'd just remove the tattoos and paint in the red, black and gold details.
I say it's a waste of time, not because it's a bad idea or poorly thought out, but because I fully expect Hasbro to release something similar in a few months anyway.

I think it looks like a great Armada homage. My concern is that the transformation from robot to jet might mean you have a color-cohesive robot mode, and the transformation puts the colors into weird places so that you have one funky-looking haphazardly-colored jet.
Actually, I've watched the videos of the transformation closely, and most of the red will just be stripes on the wings. the rest of the red will be hidden in vehicle mode.
Was just thinking the same thing But overall, if you're unsatisfied with how the leader class looks like, then go ahead and repaint it in what you see best Though to me, the colors resemble Ramjet/Cybertron Starscream a bit and not so much as a Decepticon More like an Aerialbot, but it works! Specially if you give him a sword! Hope the actual paint job looks as good or even better
That paint scheme would make me actually buy this fella. I'm just not a fan of the Cybertronian tats or the bland color of our "real world" jets, so this just blows me away. That really is quite nice. Do it!
I like it, and I would say keep the black but add more blue details around the lower arms and lower legs.
Reminds me more of Cybertron/Galaxy Force Starscream than Armada becuase of all the grey. Still, pretty cool.
Not bad looking, I know of another TFW member who has done this to his ROTF SS, only in G1 colors, Starscream has never looked better..and any color is better than the ROTF tattoos..
