So, I head down to search for the last of the wave 3 Titan Masters that I needed, and it was a success on both the level that I found Ptero and that they gave him to me for a dollar (because of the wait for a manager), whereas my previous cashiers had eventually rang up the other guys at full price. I was surprised to see a movie leader on the shelves as well! No trouble ringing him, though I was surprised at him being at the system. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I mean, it had been awhile, and from the look of the box, he'd seen some shit.
Something similar happened to me back at the beginning of November. I found a Walmart exclusive masterpiece Skywarp with a destroyed box, and after some effort I managed to get it for $15. I realize it's not as nice as the newest release, but for that cheap I was definately going to buy it.
How do you all manage to get the prices dropped? The only experience I have ended with them refusing to sell the toy to me even though the price tag in the aisle clearly had a discounted price.
Well after the figure failed to ring up, I just pointed out that the mangled box said 2007, so it's been out for nearly a decade now, and should therefore be pretty heavily discounted by now. I also stressed that "clearly, no one else was interesred in buying it at this point." It also may have helped that I was kind and even toned toward the employee, used the associate's name in order to establish a sense of rapport, and she seemed kinda bored before she was helping me anyway.
To clarify, I did NOT get Megs for a discount, although the $45 it was is absurd when you think about about our current leader class.
I haven't decided if I'm going to keep him yet. His right kneepad was off in the box, and now the hinge on it is cracked via me transforming it. But I may still get rid of him. I like movie leaders and I made sure his electronics still work. One of the batteries went rogue during his time in neglect. Ha! Yeah, I got a little caught up in the moment.
I had to hit three separate Wal-Marts for TM wave 3, and the subject of them not selling them to me never came up. Most associates just want to move the line along, and the managers aren't going quarrel with you. Never lied about the price because I was just so happy to see the buggers!
