If they want to make that reference, at least have the courtesy to play the actual song XD

I can’t understand how that specific scenario had anything to do with the song. They were just training people. His delivery was also really uncomfortable, because the way he stressed “the Touch” made it seem like the character was aware of the song??? Plus, nobody in the target audience would get the reference in the first place.

It'd make for a neat training montage song, but again, without the context, it's just very odd. Most of the references and nods in Cyberverse at least made sense within the context of the show, but that's the biggest exception.

I feel like it would be kind of out of place for an 80’s song to appear in a show that is otherwise very late 2010’s (le epic funny randomzords low attention-span ten minute episode “action” show). It would be awesome if the whole show was more 80’s in feel (but still better quality than an 80’s cartoon, of course), but the song would definitely be out of place otherwise.

This show is so violent I had to stop letting my 3 year old watch it, and only watch it with my 7 year old when the little guy was napping. Megatron's brutalizing of Starscream and numerous other beatdowns made my jaw drop that they actually did that on a "kids" show.

    And I'm not even joking.

Am I watching the same show as everyone else here?

This show is about as hardcore and well-written as Energon.

Oh, well if a random youtuber says it's one of the best portrayals of Optimus, then it must be true. Youtube's stringent vetting process would never let anything other than 100% objective fact ever be published on its website.

    The show has weaknesses like
    • Short runtime
    • Low budget
    • Errors
    • Looks
But it also has more strengths like
    • Concepts
    • Characters
    • Depictions
    • The creators had fun while making it
    • Not afraid to go a little dark
    • Introduces new things to tf
    • Didn’t go too dark and stayed balanced
    • Light hearted
    • Reminds me of g1
I’d say it definitely deserves a spot on my top 5 i can safely say I enjoy it and hopes it gets a sequel that give the other concepts that was planed to be in this show like
    • More obscure Characters like nickel, transmutate, ultra Magnus, and more cassettes
    • Crossovers with past series like tfa and tfp
But for now lets see what wfc has to offer hopefully it’s not going to be another combiner wars.

I am actually preparing a pitch to Hasbro for an adult themed dark ongoing series. A long form story with updated origins for several.

Good luck with that. If there's one thing big corporations love, it's blind submissions. And by love, I mean they love to deposit them unopened directly into the trash. Because if there's anything remotely similar they were already working on, they open themselves up to lawsuits by reading yours. There are established paths to breaking into the writing business, but that isn't one of them.

I was kind of joking. I just had an idea where a long running series of B stories featuring Hot Rod as the antagonist would be adaptations of four 80s movies...first Bloodsport, then Roadhouse, then Big Trouble in Little China, then Night of the Comet. Every one leading to the other(e.g. he is a bouncer at Macaddams because he went AWOL from the Cybertron Elite Guard to fight in an underground fight club, etc) that if shown together stitch together a single narrative like all the McBain clips on Simpsons.
