This requires a bit of back story...

I've been getting into comics hardcore again, more specifically DC Comics and more specifically than that, Aquaman. It's stems from a strange childhood facination of the character. But anyway, I've been collecting anything and everything I can of him for the past month or so and I really wanted to pick up the DC Direct statue they made of him but it rarely pops up on eBay, and when it does it was about $100 over retail price.

Well, me and my wife went on vacation this week for our anniversary/my birthday/spring break. While we were there I decided to look up any comic shops in the area, well I found one and when we got there I was a bit let down because it looked pretty sorry from the outside. When I opened the door I saw walls lined with figures and an entire wall full of statues and busts. Not only that, but a glass case of full size statues with this guy front and center:

After debating on whether to get it or not I decided to go for it and I'm so glad I did! I love it! It's pretty much the perfect silver-age depiction of Aquaman. Only problem now is I want more DC Direct statues, and I need a nice curio cabinet to put him in!

That's one badass Aquaman statue. Would love to dedicate a whole wall to all the DC statues

Congrats on your catch but be warned...statues are addictive and more expensive than collecting TFs!
