I have known about it for the past two months. But my mother is 75 years old and she has small cell cancer and that is one of the worse. She has refused chemo treatment and want the cancer run its course. The cancer has already consumed most of her right lung and it has spread to her brain. It is starting to affect her thinking and her right arm and hand is weak. I have learned to accept it and my dad died of cancer 8 years ago. Both of my parents have smoked most of their lives.

My mom has 3 types of cancer, but she did chemo for the Breast cancer. She gets the skin cancer cut off, I don't know about the other one. Never really came up in conversation.

I received a phone call from my sister earlier and she told me the hospice nurse stopped by to check on my mom and he said her oxygen level and blood pressure is good. But then he told my sister that can change anytime. My grandmother died 4 years ago and she was 86. She also smoked most of her life, but she did not die of cancer and so I was hoping my mother will live another 10 years.

I am going home back to Pensacola tomorrow. My mother has taken a turn for the worse. I do not know if the tumors spread quick to her brain or her body is starting to break down.

I am sorry, that your mother was diagnosed with cancer, I will keep you, mother, and family in my prayers.

Are you the only child that is caring for your mother? Reason being its easier to have the entire family help out.

If you have a choice, don't go in alone, try not to be a "one man show", because its going to where you out. You need to stay strong constantly.

Just try to spend as much time as you can with her, and do your best to help make her last days as comfortable as possible.

Sorry dude. Hearing that a family member has cancer is one of the hardest punches to the gut you'll ever receive, in my experience.

My youngest was diagnosed with Leukemia 2 years ago. Its been a rough couple years, but hopefully she'll be done with treatment soon.

Very sorry to hear of your Mum's troubles. Say a little prayer for you and yours tonight. Mum had a Moderate Growth carcinoma of the right lung, past smoker, vascular issues up the wazoo, it's tough. I know where you're at, my planner hobby and cameo 3 keep me sane. Don't forget to take care of you too.

My mother has passed away last Thursday and I was there with her. I have been devastated and that is why I waited several days to respond. I appreciate all of your concerns and prayers.
