That's pretty crazy. I forget what the Mattel issue was but they gave me a $25 coupon. Hasbro I had issues with My little pony figures for my daughter and they just sent new figures. I also had a missing part in my cw figure and they sent a new figure for that as well
Surgery time. You can see how much bigger the hole got removing the screw. I filled it with cyanoacrylate and I am going to let it cure for 24 hours before I try drilling a new hole.
I had bought some Transformers Animated figures for my kids and a few had issues. Hasbro told me to just take them back to the store. Only problem was the store was out and never had any more. My broken returns sat in the clearance area for two months. Mattel I had an issue with a MOTUC I ordered that was chipped on the arm that was noticeable. Store told me to contact Mattel’s customer service. They told me to try eBay, a month later they had the figure on one of their Matty sales. Haven’t bought a Mattel product since.
Filled and tapped. Screw is holding. For now. Don't know if it will hold up to the rigors of transformation. But, Maverick is whole again and ready for the danger zone.
Only the FT stuff is specially fragile due to the amount of paint their figures usually have. However, their most recent figures have some major design flaws or QC issues. I have their Astrotrain and Blitzwing on preorder, I hope they improve on the QC when those two go into production. No 3p toy is free of QC problems but for the most part they are quite good, don't worry. Exactly this.
My dealer told me to contact Fanstoys directly, and they already responded saying they are going to request a chest piece from the factory. So yes, they do have great customer service. I always give credit where credit is due. I just have to laugh at this point. I found this rattling around in the box with Iceman. Screw hole cap that will not stay put. So three Fanstoys Aerialbots. Each one with a QC issue. I know they are (mostly) minor, and for that I am grateful. But really, good grief.
Wait til we're trying to put them together with everyone transforming these guys into jets for the first time and then trying to balance 2 feet of combined metal. Will a detolf oven hold this Superion?
This has happened to my maverick as well. I was able to back out the broken screw and replaced both with a smaller machine screw. I used some plastic in the chest piece holes to better grip the threads of the smaller screws. The head of the screw Fans Toys used makes contact inside the die-cast armature causing the screw head to shear off. I honestly see this happening on every figure that has an owner that actually transforms him. You may get a new chest and if the screws are the same size this will likely happen again.
My combiners are all on platforms I made out of 1/2" thick plywood and 1x2 frames. I don't trust anything from ikea. Their stuff is too cheaply made. This is how I am feeling right now. So. More Surgery. F%&k Ratchet. I got this. I always give credit where credit is due. They sent me a new chest piece for Maverick, and a new hand for Iceman. So again, credit where it's due. Fans Toys QC let me down, but their customer service is absolutely top notch.
Thank you so much for sharing your pics!! I just had to repair my Maverick figure and ran into a bit of a snag with reattaching my backpack. Seeing your pieces helped me figure out my dilemma and he's back to being 100% now. Many thanks!!
