    Can't.Stop.Watching.

Did I mention Pinkie Pie is one scary filly ?

And I have MLP FiM toys in my buy list for 2011, it will oddly stand out among my action figures and mechas collection. :D

Man, Rainbow Dash is fucked in the head. (I got the ticket! I got the tiiiiicket!)

Ain't a happy, sunny, shiny Equestria all the time by a longshot. Remember, this is Lauren Faust at the helm. There is no way she isn't slipping a lot of stuff into this show and getting away with it.

I'm really digging the new show. I like the new animation style and the throwback to the more fantasy/adventure pony stories of the 80's as opposed to weird things like ponies hanging out at malls and being pratically human like they were in MLP Tales or the the give a "care bear diabetes with their overly sugarly till you puke style" direct to video releases that they did with they relauched the line back in 2003 or so. In short, this is the kind of pony reboot I've been waiting for.

Pinkie Pie - never thought I'd enjoy a character with such a stupid name (seriously Hasbro, this was the best you could do?), but I love her! She's the very definition of American "spastic."

Applejack - wow, an actual attempt to revive an old pony copyright name, (same with Spike the baby dragon) Many a pony fan has a soft spot for the originals, and I still have my original Applejack toy. I love the cowgirl angle and her big family.

Fluttershy - is it just me or does this character remind anyone of the character of Madhiri (the really shy woman) on the new sitcom Outsourced) that character archtype seems to be in vogue this season, I find her hillarious

Rainbow Dash - being a tomboy myself I like tomboys characters

Twilight - a book lover, just like me, I can relate to her just wanting to be alone sometimes

Rarity - a lot less annoying than I thought a vain character would be, I kinda like her

I love how this show has brought back unicorns and pegasuses, which I always preferred collecting over the regular "Earth" ponies as they are sometimes called in MLP fandom, uni and peg have been rare in the line since the 2003 relauch so it's so nice to see them back in full force. I'm just disapointed the new toys have plastic moulded hair and I think both pegasuses (Rainbow and Flutter) are missing from the set.

Anyway, I think this is a great reveival and it may be the first MLP stuff I get on DVD.

Not to mention Pink Celestia!... Well, I'm staying positive! Thankful to get toys. Hopefully all the prior lines will be replaced with figures from this series! (I'm looking at you - - newborn baby-ponie dolls? c'mon... whatcha thinking Has?). Staying positive! Staying positive.

DVD Release Date? where are you?

Great episode again, I feel sad when
    Twilight cried :(

And no new episode till 7th of January, maybe The Hub trying to spare me from weekly heart attacks and diabetes overdose, cause next one will be focusing on Apple Bloom.

It's still incredibly girly and cute.

But it has enough of a sense of humour and self-awareness to know when to poke fun at itself for being as such, wherein it becomes really enjoyable.

It's smartly-written kids' fare, in other words. It hits all the right notes for its target demographic, but its written in a way so as to be enjoyable for the parents watching it along with their kids.

This! I haven't watched them all (I will be buying the DVDs) but one thing that I like is that in a few episodes they encounter monsters and they don't act all dumb, like "what is that!?"; No, they're more like that's a Griffin and "Oh no! a Ursa Major". For some reason I like the fact they aren't "exploring their world" with new eyes. I love the smart constellation-based naming schemes too.

Also, what's probably contributed to the show's success in online circles is the fact that it's incredibly meme-tastic.

The animators obviously have a lot of fun with this show. A whole crap-ton of exagerrated expressions, hilarious sight gags, and general hilarity all around (half of them probably attributed to Pinkie Pie...).

Each new episode that airs will almost undoubtedly spawn a good dozen or so new good animated GIFs for macro-ing.

Echo'ing other people. Yes. It's bright colors, and cute ponies, and all that entails.
On the other hand, it's well written, extremely clever, funny, the characters are likeable, and the show doesnt treat the audience like they have an IQ of 50. That the main character started out as, essentially, a socially awkward bookworm doesnt hurt either. Geeks gotta stick together, right?

    That's a fucking ear-worm, that.

I have to make sure to wash it out with plenty of the Avengers theme, before I start getting weird looks.
