    Thanks MLP Merch

Plasmane Ghostbusters x MLP Crossover Collection Figure Appears on Amazon UK | MLP Merch

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Little-Pony-Ghostbusters-Ghostbusters-Inspired-Collectible/dp/B0843GCP5X

Ooh she looks like Shady! Or maybe Baby Shady all grown up. Head's a little big and I was expecting her to be a Ghost Pony, but she's cute.

I'll pass though. As much as I love neon pink/neon green, her uniform clashes and that head looks a bit off. They really need to move those eyes up. I guess Hasbroken got so used to making eyes that takes up 40% of the face, that they forgot where they were supposed to go. Maybe they should ask Basic Fun.

Love the box art. She looks so determined.

What is it with these crossover toys and not using the FiM-pony template? Are they leaning towards pre-FiM for the retro vibes? Because I REALLY doubt MLP was that appealing to boys before the FiM era...

Makes sense to tap into 80s nostalgia for the crossovers as nostalgia is vogue. I am also a little dubious about these selling to boys if they're not FiM style!

That being said Plasmane isn't too bad but I'm really warming up to the D&D set. They're really well deco'd!

Please do not jinx. That would be truly terrible.

@TargetmasterJoe @PlanckEpoch I know that this refuses to stick in your minds, but MLP is first and foremost a Girl's Brand from the 1980s, with a large and enduring Girl Fanbase and there are indeed male fans who enjoy the older gens. It did not start in the mid-2000s. Thus it is appropriate that they're giving it a more retroish look to match.

If you like them, get them. If it personally offends you to acknowledge that there are fans other then yourselves that these are made to appeal to, don't buy them. Simple as that.

I still say these are weird-ass crossovers.

Well, I'm not forgetting anything. I'm just looking at it from a more business standpoint. I don't hate these crossovers, for sure! I just figure that Gen4 is more relevant to contemporary culture and would make an easier sell for crossovers. As I said, 80s nostalgia is big. As someone who is a nostalgia collector I certainly get it. G1 forever and all that jazz. MLP is in a wierd place though. I'm just not sure if retro designs have the same appeal with a crossover? Again, just looking at it from a business standpoint. I'm no expert, and perhaps Hasbro is seeing something I don't.

My reasoning simply is that, would older fans be interested in crossovers with properties like D&D, Ghostbusters, and Transformers? Such a thing would seem more likely to appeal to FiM fans, given the culture that's spawned around Gen4.

When this crossover was first announced I made a joke to my wife that since My Little Pony was now in continuity with The Transformers I would have to start a My Litttle Pony collection to put on the shelf with my little plastic robot men... Turns out that statement may end up being true. This will definately not help with me trying to get her to stop reffering to my action figures as dolls.

So for DECADES there has been interest for transformers and GI Joe to create crossover toys. The handful of TFCC figures and vehicles and the SDCC box sets were all we got. NONE of them included Joe vehicles that could actually transform. And now instead we get THIS?!?

Getting the TF one for sure if possible. It’ll go right beside Q-Transformers Hello Kitty and Ectotron on The Ridiculous Shelf.

Perhaps Joe fans will get new crossover figs when the new movies come out and if the upcoming figs sell well? That would be super cool.

Y’all just mad because Transformers is a “manly” thing and Ponies are perceived to be for girls, and to have a girly thing and a manly thing mix doesn’t sit well with y’all.

In which case, call your mama.
