    Hi guys,

Please forgive this thread, but I need answers (and some venting)

Ok, long story short- I live with my grandparents due to various reasons. They have just re-opened a relationship with their son (my uncle) and his son (my cousin). They stopped speaking to both years ago because they are thieves.

To say that these two individuals are low lives is to insult the low life community. Yet they have visited for the past 4 weekends and nothing has gone amiss, leading to the hope in all of us that they have changed their ways.

They sleep in the spare room, and I keep a box or two of bits up there for want of space. In one box is a load of old G2's and some other childhood TF's.

Yesterday I noticed that my G2 Megatron who I had since I was 9, is now gone.

So, my question is why? What possible use could it be to them? Its not worth anything, and its a pretty crap toy (unless you like bricks), so why?! Its only value is to me.

    Can anyone please explain?

I know people like that, but I'll never understand them. Some people steal just to steal. They can't be reasoned with, shamed, or in any way deterred. The best you can do is learn your lesson and keep them away from your stuff.

They probably assumed it was worth a lot because it's a large transformer that looks vintage. I doubt they knew much about it.

I don't know what else to say. Sorry, bro.

Don't frett to much, just get you spare boxes out of the place ASAP. If someone asks why you're doing that, say "I don't want them going "Small Soldiers" and simply disapearing like G2 Megatron I had since I was a kid."

If you knew they had a history of committing theft I would have moved those Items out of the room they are staying in.

my guess is your cousin took a liking to it and took it home with him.

and just so we are all on the same page is this the gobots Megatron or the Big tank?

Looking at your shmax sig, you've got a few toys that are pretty valuable.

At the risk of stating the obvious, you need to make sure they're not endangered if your relatives are around.

If that comes down to keeping them under lock and key, and making sure that lock cannot be tampered with, then that's what you have to do.

If your grandparents are sympathetic to your interest in TFs, and wouldn't simply see them as something that would open another rift, maybe you should sound them out about your concerns.

Confront them? Maybe with the backing of your grandparents? If they feel insulted at the accusation and decide to sod off then that's something at least. Of course you might not get your figure back then. Lock your other stuff away regardless. If you don't do anything now then it might be a figure you really care about next time that goes on a secret journey.

They probably figured it was worth something and that they could unload it for some easy money.

To hell with that, this has been were he has been living and shouldn't have to change around how he lives to suit someone else. And if there are two thing in this world I can't stand, it's a liar and a thief. I have had too much experience with this kind of "person" then I wish to admit. This is grounds for a stright up ass whooping. Tell your GPs and when they kick out the known pieces of shit for obvious reasons, pummel there asses into the pavement. Maybe that will make them think twice before they steal from family again. Worked in my case. This kind of story REALLY makes me sick. If you don't stand up for yourself now, these dipshits will keep on doing it.

    Thanks for your words guys.

I was so stupid leaving them in the spare room, but my nan assured me they would be fine. It was only the last time they stayed (last weekend) that stuff went missing, so I was lured into a false sense of security.

Atleast my G1's are safe, they are under lock and key.

It just pisses me off so much. I really can't understand the mentality- "I need money for drugs, so I'll steal".

I think my grandparents are in a state of denial.

Sorry to hear about this man, it must drive you nuts!

If it were me I'd be so angry I don't know what I'd do, but it would be hard to just let it lie.

It's the principle of the thing...

Let us know if you get any sort of resolution.

Boy that sucks. I understand how you feel i still have my g2 megatron and would be crushed if he was stolen. ANd i can say this since i just checked the price its the sentimental value i had mine since i was a kid and you did to. I just was surprised at how little that figure is worth.

Like you said at least your g1s are safe!

Maybe one of them was looking at it and forgot to put it back? Though after reading it is most likely they took it. I'd confront them about it ASAP, not alone though.

If I was in your situation, here's what I would do:
    • go through the room they stayed in and remove anything that belongs to you which you value (either for money or sentimental reasons).
    • do a thorough search of the room to make sure G2 Megs wasn't accidentally kicked under a bed, misplaced, put in the wrong box, etc.
    • take a photo of any items you value. Toys, iPods, cell phone, digital camera, etc. Nothing fancy, group shots are fine. Just don't take one pic of everything, make sure you can identify each figure in the collection easily.
    • write down the serial numbers of all your electronic items and email the list to yourself.
    • create a photobucket/imageshack/etc account strictly for this and post all of the pics there.

By doing this you have a record of your possessions that you can refer to if you need to confront your uncle/cousin; or if a serious incident (house burns down) you have proof you can send to your grandparents' insurance company and get reimbursed. By keeping the pics and serial #'s "in cloud" form, if something happens to your hard drive or computer you won't have to redo all of this work. Good luck and hopefully they won't take anymore of your stuff (but I doubt it).

    i'd smash their faces in.
then get back megs, steal their drugs and sell them on, and increase that victory collection you've got going on.

What does that mean? Did you tell them Megatron was missing and they said something along the lines of "There must be a mistake."?

If not, I'd undoubtedly confront them with your Grandparents backing you. But before hand, I'd lock away all of your Transformers and make sure that G2 Megs didn't get misplaced, search the whole room.

I think, if you're right and they stole him without having any value in him or ever getting some value out of him, you can somehow compare them to addicts. You can be addicted to several things, maybe anything! And some people are addicted to stealing. It's the stealing itself that gives the people some kind of pleasure, some times they don't even understand it by their selves. They just do it. They need to treat their addiction like everyone else. That's probably the only way, if it is like this and not only suspicion.
