This is my first customization. I was excited to see a mainline Springer but wasn't too happy with what they gave us, as most weren't. I just couldn't get past legs. Looked like a helicopter and an AT-ST had a kid. So I did a little modding and painting. Still only 2 mode transformer. I used gdo Spinger of course and FOC Jazz legs with added pieces to knees to give it a more Spinger look. Also let him have the Jazz gun. Both weapons can be stored under his wings on his back. Helicopter mode isn't the greatest but I think the robot mode turned out pretty good. It's not the best but it's a first for me.

 

Just needs to be painted and then it would look better

 

Very nice build, though the colors seem a bit all over the place. Maybe consider painting the white, blue and lime green to match the other colors?

I will wait to see what it will look like painted but I applaud your efforts. It takes courage to put yourself on here for others to see. I have a few repaints/minor mods up myself. Im just starting on here. Check them out if you have time.

 

Doesn't look too bad. I think once he's painted up he'll look a lot better. Right now, he looks like a color sample prototype that's just getting ready for production. But, it looks good.

As for the back of the helicopter, if you could add a propeller or some fins to help shape it, it wouldn't look as bad as you think. It DOESN'T look bad now, but if you want to improve, those are some simple options to look at to try.

 

I actually like the helicopter mode, looks the part of a futuristic, off world ground attack vehicles. Weak point is the paint pas, but that takes practice. Try some flat acrylics. Military colors. They tend to cover pretty good without looking goopy. You can always gloss or satin coat it later. Looking forward to the finished product.

I love the use of Jazz legs for him! Great idea here, can you take a pic in bot mode with a couple other deluxes to show his height?

Height

Here is a picture of Springer with generations Perceptor. One problems with the legs is the fact it's from the new FOC line which are all smaller than most. The great part was the hip ball joints are pretty much exactly the same size.

 

Boy, height looks good. I might have a purpose for the FOC Jazz now.
