So, after a few years of putting down the paint and glues, my friend Amy asked me to help them with their wedding. Her bf Adam is a big TF fan, and she's a toy fan in general. So, she wanted to surprise him with a wedding cake topper that was TF themed. Their wedding colors are even decepticon purple ( even mine wasn't that bad..I left the toys at home..) but hey, you help friends out..you wear gawdy dresses and you apparently make TF wedding cake custom toppers.. She didn't have any say or input as to what she wanted..Originally she just said Prime and Arcee..Adam is a Megatron guy, so, I decided that would be a better route. I originally was thinking of using Robot Heros or Myclones, but, I had no luck in finding an Arcee in time at the Tfcon up in Toronto. So I went with Hero's of Cybertron..Which was dumb as they're so damned small. But oh well. I have small fingers. Next, originally I was thinking of just painting them..But, I knew that soft plastic wouldn't take too well to paints. So, a trip to Jo-Ann Fabrics and a few other places, I started to build the tux and gown for them. For Megs, I took him apart, and painted him a glossy black. And then took this metallic sheen black fabric and cut out little strips that would wrap around him and hold because of said tackiness of the paint I used. I used purple ribbon to do his vest/cumberbun, and bow tie. He has a white undershirt with silver buttons. He has purple ribbon pin stripes going down his legs, and a matching corsage to her flowers. In his hand he holds 2 gold rings. For Acree, I designed a layered dress for her, with a net veil and train. I added little plastic jewels to it all both on the dress, and train. I removed her back shoulder bits and gave her two straps for the dress glued down, but enough to show off some Autobot symbol. Her gun was removed and she now holds her bouquet of flowers. wrapped with more purple ribbon. She has a gown with more jewels on it and then more mesh fabric over it. It doesn't lay down as well as I'd hoped, but oh well. The base is a wedding cake topper plate, with Reprolabel Autobot and Decepticon stickers on it, and the center sticker is one I designed of the 2 factions coming together. I then took left over bead jewels and placed them around with more various purple and white flowers along the rim. I decided they needed some sort of backing, so, glued a piece of styrofoam on, painted it in silver glitter paint, and then stuck various purple orchid and violet flowers to it to create a floral background for them. And there you go.
oh yeah..that's Megatrons coat tails sticking out from between his legs there..he has fancy coat on..but the flaps don't lay so well.
I would have never thought to put Arcee with Megatron, but you made them look really good together. The whole display says union to me with the alternating Autobot and Decepticon insignias along the border and the alternating white and purple flowers and the giant blending of the two symbols in the center. Very nice. I really think that your friends Amy and Adam will be proud to have this on their wedding cake.
Hi sami nice to see you here, great work, and i echoe everyone elses comments, megatron in a tux, COOL!!! with arcee, even better, all the best colin (7ft optimus)
Excellent work! I was hinting at something similar for my wedding. My bride wanted a more traditional cake though. She did suggest we have 2 cakes though - hers and mine - which worked out well. My sister is pretty good at making cakes so she was the one who made them both. I had printed out a neat picture of a 'cybertronian symbol' that I saw in a comic book somewhere. It was essentially the top of the decepticon insignia and the bottom of the auto insignia combined (or vice-versa, I can't remember exactly). I thought it was an awesome symbol since it did stand for 2 factions coming together as 1. Anyways, she lost the picture I gave her before she made the cake. She didn't realize it was a specific version of the emblems and just got a generic one from Google. She found 'the same one as the tattoo on your chest'... so I can't really fault her for that. But here is my 'groom's cake' from my reception.
Megatron and Arcee tying the knot.....not even in the SG Universe that would ever.....ever....ever. BTW great job Sami. It's a good custom for 1 one in 3 years.
Wow thats Pretty Dope, u should do another one with Arcee in a Hooker outfit and Put Megatron in his PIMP Gear, haha, but Great work, im digging his Bell Bottoms lol
This looks really cool. Great to see you making customs again! Also, if there are any customs you haven't posted in a while, feel free to do so
