While granted the Transformers film series has had a mixed reception despite each successive film earning more and more - it seems my local cinema is reluctant to show screenings of it. Having checked the local Cinema's website recently I discovered that their are no plans for a 2D showing of Transformers; Age Of Extinction and that they only have plans for three showings a day. Comparing this to a film released around the same time which is planned to have six viewings a day - Mrs. Brown's Boys D'Movie... Normally I'd question whether this is an error however having phoned the local cinema asking about a 2D viewing or whether they had other times planned they responded with 'the schedules are confirmed and the times shown on the website accurately represent the film showings' Just thought I'd share as I'm wondering if anyone else has these sorts of irregularities with the Transformers; Age Of Extinction showings - such as a decreased amount of showings or being forced to watch it in 3D instead. Have you been affected by either of these issues, let me know Source; Empire Cinema
Perhaps they didn't update all the showtimes maybe? Fandango over hear often updates times on Wednesdays at the theater I go to. Update: Ah, read the rest of your post.
1hr and 30 minute film vs 2hr and 30 minute film. Obviously the shorter film is going to have more showings. Edit: Well, looks like the cinema wants earn a few extra bucks so they are forcing people to watch in 3D. Where I am, there is 2D,3D, and Imax 3D showings.
I've got 3 showings in 3D and 2D, but it is a bit frustrating for there not to be another set of showings, it's a proven franchise. Ah well.
Ugh! Mrs Brown's boys D'movie looks so stupid!!! I don't mind the tv show, but this looks shit! It looks nothing like the show....
Dont theatres have to pay to show movies (could be wrong but I thought so)? Not sure how large or well to do your theatre is, but they may have only been able to afford a few slots for AOE.
Mine only has 3D too?! Four times though, 12:00, 3:30, 7:00 and 10:30 huh that very strange. oh well I luckily have another theater not too much farther away. will check that now. On the date I checked (next Saturday) the only listing they have is for AOE. Maybe they will add the 2D later on in the week, because it is pretty early right now
Aww man the other theater, AMC only has 3D as well!! What the hell! EDIT: Ah nevermind I saw the 'special engagement' symbol so I thought they only had 3D and special engagement was like DBOX or something, but they have 2D on Saturday
Weird solution - Get 3D to 2D glasses lol. I got a pair of IMAX 3D glasses as I hate the ones you get at the cinema, but they also sell glasses that turn IMAX 3D into IMAX 2D. These are good for people like a friend of mine, who has a problem in one of his eyes; so he can't make out 3D very well. You can get them from here... Optics 3D Ltd
So far the AMC theater here (right in the same parking lot as AMC corporate) doesn't have any showtimes listed as of yet.
Makes sense. Mrs Browns Boys is always without fail great entertainment and I've been looking forwards to that movie far more than AOE. Mrs Brown is certainly the movie I'm intending to watch in the cinema and I've not been to one for years because going to the big screen sucks. AoE can wait. At least this thread will have some entertaining element as Bay fans will inevitably come in here to slate the Mrs Brown movie as if it's some kind of actual threat to the box office of a BayFormers movie.
I don't see the Mrs. Browns boys movie as a threat, but I do after been subjected to it for the last 2 years by my mother, and the girlfriend, let's just say it makes the twins humour in ROTF look clean, and sophisticated. So I'm slating it because it makes me feel good!
Whats really strange is that my local theater has one 2D Show on the opening night (10:00 on Thursday) but for the rest of the weekend and the following week only 3D? Im hoping that they simply haven't updated it yet.
