I got Animated Starscream last week upon first transforming him I immediately thought of the similarities to various elements of G1 Jetfire. Thought I'd share the vision with a breakdown:

    Arm blasters and chest area:

    Shoulder swivel pieces:

    Open/Closed feet/thrusters:

Rear Jet top flip up transformation phase:

Swivel-piece leg swing back and tucked back arm placement:

    Final jet mode:

He can Gerwalk? That's super cool. Guess I will be getting this one then. Though I wonder if I hold out, will there be a Skywarp version of this mold?

Heh. You know, I've been feeling something oddly familiar every time I play with Starscream. That'd be it.

Stop it, you're making me like him.

Though I suppose I'll have to buy him for my wife anyway. She's turning into a pretty hardcore Starscream fangirl.

I noticed this myself the other day; stumbled over his gerwalk mode when I was transforming him. YET another reason why he's such a damn fine toy!

I wonder what would happen if you put a revoltech macross figure head on that starscream...these pics alone show how cool the basic figure is. I just don't like the head sculpt.

I also noticed the similarity when I saw animated Starscream. But the truth is that many transformable toys (especially jets) have been inspired by the takatoku mold.
