No kidding. It wasn't just 'Turn Back Time'; her performance on the title track from 'Aquarius' was stellar, along with that on many of the songs from her solo album (Play With Me; did you manage to check that out?).

I have now, some very good stuff on there. I also qualify my previous statement; the woman is still a babe and can rock a riding crop and leather corset like a champ.

Here's a guilty pleasure from my YouTube favourites

YouTube - ‪Bloodsport Soundtrack - Fight To Survive (Extended Version) VERY VERY RARE‬‏

Sung by Stan Bush no less :p

Re: 80s music, here's the cycle
-popular during it's time (the 80's, duh!)
-became unpopular, no longer cool to like (throughout the 90s)
-late 90s/early 2000s, mp3's made every type of music accessable & free.
-people started downloading everything, even for "ironic purposes". Milli Vanilli, Starship, MC Hammer, Vanilla Ice, etc.
-said ironic music stayed on our computers and mp3 players, when we discovered "Hey! I actually enjoy listening to this!"
    And here we are.

Aquarius: very, very good album. Aquarium: AMAZING album. I initially wrote off Aqua as a novelty act with "Barbie Girl", but when they started cranking out one solid single after another, then I gave the entire album a listen, I was completely blown away.

For myslef, I'll also own up to all the sugary pop "bands": Spice Girls, NSync, Boyzone, B*Witched, Westlife, Take That, Backstreet Boys (for the record: BSB's Millenium was a fantastic album from start to finish)
And half of the Black Eyed Peas' crap, the other half I absolutely cannot stand.
Oh, and Ke$ha. I deserve to burn for that one, especially for using the "$"

    Depends on who's asking.

On one side - Finntroll, Manowar, Neaera, Vision Bleak, Strapping Young Lad, Haunted, At The Gates...

On the other side - Pet Shop Boys, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Duran Duran...

And dubstep. Lots of dubstep, lately.

    Vampire Weekend.

Yeah, I like heavy metal folk bands, hard rock, rock, and classic rock. But, sometimes I just like to listen to Vampire Weekend...

If I have a guilty pleasure when it come to music, it would have to be some old school Prince. I blame my sisters for this:)

I find it sad that people who are really into metal think that anything not metal is a guilty pleasure. It's called variety.

Hahaha, I listen to Comfortably Numb, Laura & Tits on the Radio ever so often. I guess Lovers in the Back Seat & Music is a Victim are good too, but those 3 have always stood out to me above the rest. I actually miss hearing them on the radio.

Seeing as this is a Guilty Pleasure Thread I'm not sure questioning what people like it really such a great idea.

I watch the last ten minutes of Bloodsport with alarming regularity, like I'm talking once a day or so :p

Back in the 90's and early 2000's, I would have said Journey was a guilty pleasure. But Journey is no longer something to feel guilty over, as time eventually vindicated them and exalted them to where they deserve to be. They are now considered among the legendary bands of all time.

For a really guilty pleasure, I'd say Stan Bush and 80's Chicago albums.

there's no shame involved. The song has a lot going for it. It's just Limahl. There's something particularly laughable about that guy.

seems to be a bit of a theme in the thread alright.

that's one of the coolest bands going.

    Alright, updates.
In addition to Selena Gomez, I now have a certain fondness for one Dani Shay... It concerns me.

I listen to mostly modern and classic rock, but I like listening to Jazz, Classics, Folk, and New Age as well. I really like Enya and her brand of celtic music. I also like Pure Mood compliation CD. For Folk I like Nanci Griffith a lot. In fact there'll be days when I just want something relaxing to put me in a good mood and I'd have a playlist on my iTune just for that purpose.
