I went to the Yorkshire Air Museum earily in the week. It's a wonderful place, chock full of jets and planes...and it got me thinking. What would happen if a bunch of TFs landed in the middle of it? So, the back story revolves around three Decepticons being sent to earth to help plunder fuel sources, with a bunch of Autobot outcasts being sent after them. The main players: Decepticon: Vertigo: Victor K2 Fuel Tanker Plumit: Metor F8 jet interceptor Fade Out: not decided yet Autobot: Apex: Halifax Bomber Bucaneer: Bucaneer Strike Jet Jumpjet: Harrier At least, those are the working names and the jet types that influenced their alt-forms. And this will be the first time I've tried to reproduce a real object as acurately as possible....
Only one done so far but, good grief, it's a complicated model. All panels and stuff, not quite a shell former but damn close. Anyway: Vertigo Function: Fuel Acquisition Alternate form: Earthen Aerial Tanker “War and death are an art form unto themselves.” Bio: Contradiction defines Vertigo’s personality. On the battlefield, he is remorseless, unrelenting and brutal. Yet he has been seen quietly contemplating a sunset or a barrel of fine fuel with all the dedication of an artist. He appears to be the embodiment of Megatron’s ideal of a Decepticon soldier. Yet he has been known to spare Autobots for no apparent reason. These paradoxes stem from the circumstances under which Vertigo became a Decepticon. Shortly after the period known as the ‘Age of Wrath’, Megatron sought a way of altering a Cybertronian’s mental outlook so that he or she had no choice but to become a Decepticon. He took an imprisoned Autobot artist named Vertex and subjected him to a series of experiments that resulted in the being now known as Vertigo: an Autobot’s soul constricted by Decepticon armour and loyalties. Placed in charge of acquiring fuel and supplies for the weakened Decepticon army, Vertigo took out his inner pain and anguish on his former comrades, earning himself a fearful reputation. When Megatron ordered him to travel to Earth in order to assist in the plunder of its resources, he obeyed without question. Little did he know that he would be pursued by a group of Autobots led by his own brother… Abilities: Physically, Vertigo easily matches Megatron and Shockwave for power. He has above average intellect and is an extremely capable field commander. In air tanker mode, he can carry a vast amount of fuel in his heavily armoured tanks, defending himself with a nose-mounted cannon and two laser lances. His speed, however, is below average for a Decepticon flier. In robot mode, he wields a three barrelled mortar cannon and a heavy-duty plasma blaster. He can also deploy a probe unit. This semi-sentient machine is used for seeking and extracting new fuel sources. Weaknesses: [From scientific report #00665282, data-track editor: Shockwave] Subject: Vertigo (late: Vertex) is suffering from increasingly severe schizophrenia, accentuated by repeated contact with an Autobot commander known as Apex. Suggest action be taken as soon as possible to prevent permanent mental damage to an otherwise physically superior unit. Jetmode: Robotmode: Deploying Fuelscout The Fuelscout: The whole lot:
I like how the robot mode looks like it can actually transform into that jet. So a fan comic or illustrated story?
research pays off! That is pretty tremendous! Your TF design is awesome. I like the fuelfinder tail section.BRILLIANT! I don't think he looks shellformer at all. If anything i would fatten him up seeing how he is a fuel tanker in alt. mode. I would think he would be bulkier in bot mode since he 's carrying weight. maybe a con logo would be nice! Can't wait to see the rest! - amitabah
whoa! thats a fantastic design man! the little scouts make him all the more badazz think i could try sketchin' him sometime?
Hey that's a sweet design and concept~ I really like how the Fuelscout is formed. Reminds me of Lazerbeak. Good job. Looking forward to the rest ^_^
Thanks all! TGping: At the moment, the story is just an idea. I have so many stories on the go that I'm not sure I could fit another one in. Still, you never know... cromagnus: I've always thought that jet-formers should be somewhat elegant. As for the con symbol, I would have put one on, but I couldn't work out where to put it! Josh: The scout really isn't that little! And feel free, as always, to sketch away. Steel Storm: The scout was a quick little idea to remove the armour from his wrists - it would get in the way if he had to carry it everywhere.
Whoa, Very impressive! Looks massive, like a Tidal Wave of the sky. Looks like it would make a kickass toy
