I'm actually surprised they never did anything meaningful with this concept, Transformers mythos with its many continuities is so rich that this can almost certainly work. Maybe a one-off animated feature, sorta like Turtles Forever.

There were a bunch of TFCC comics that dealt with different groups exploring the multiverse, particularly Shattered Glass guys going into Wings and the Multi-verse Singularities being split up into the different versions of the Thirteen.

I'm aware of that. That's why I said "anything meaningful".

(I knew someone was going to mention FunPub.)

As far as I know, the only important fiction that plays with the concept of alternate universes is IDW.

Been thinking the same. Instead of the Hasbro-verse they should have done something morr with the multiverse they allready had than the funpub and 3h ffiction.

Agreed. Honestly, was there anyone who wanted Action Man and Transformers to occupy the same universe?

There's kind of a multi-verse storyline with Robotmasters, born from the moment that Beast Megatron kills Convoy and begins to unravel the G1 timeline.

You get two short OVAs out of it and some light manga.

I remember it definitely has been discussed here before. Personally, I don't feel that Transformers is necessarily the best franchise for a Turtles Forever type of crossover. I mean I guess it could work. But it's not really something that I'm dying for the franchise to do.

Dreamwave's Armada comic toyed with the multiverse concept. You had Armada Megatron battling (a version of) G1 Galvatron.

I've had this idea in my head for a while, and it's sort of related. Anyone seen that movie, "The One?" This guy has to kill all of his alternate-universe versions of himself, and if he does, he gets godlike powers. Well, remember Alternity and how the characters had like, multidimentional weapons and powers and shit, they could probably kill you in the past, present, and future at once? What if 'the Alternity' were what happened when every alternate-universe version of a character came together?

I dunno, just something weird I came up with.

Well now I'm just gonna be sad for the rest of today that this doesn't exist lol. That sounds like it'll go either really great or horribly wrong, either way I wanna watch.

Fun Pub definitely spoiled everyone's fun with their Shroud and the splitting of especially Primus and Unicron into infinite components.

i disagree, i find transformers to have, or had, one of the most interactive multiverses in fiction, in my eyes at least

    Maybe thats true.
Maybe there really isnt much more you can do with the concept.
I had vague thoughts about characters travelling through past iterations of the franchise. Maybe something like the Technobots of the Prime comtinuity finding themselves in the past of the Sunbow universe at the time when the Quintessons first started to create Transformers.
But if it was done it would indeed probably be a Bumblebee and Optimus going to a new universe trying to stop a Megatron from doing something, so what would be the point.
I have no idea what Turtles forever is so cant comment. Maybe it would be a cool thing to do, i dont know.

Well the way the had explained both guys omniprescence till then made little sense.
So in that respect i actually think its progress to have each Uni and Primus be a unique iteration.

Furman did something with the Multiverse in the Armada comic. The current Takara Legends comics also deal with the Multiverse somewhat. Also, the Alternity text fiction revolves around the Multiverse.

Armada's "Worlds Collide" story was AWESOME.

Cancelling the idea of Multiversal Singularities (Unicron, the 13, etc) was a very, very good thing to do.

Using multiverse elements too much can make things hollow. Wise to use such stuff sparingly.

Look people, I know all of the stories you've listed (escept the one Arvegtor posted) but these are obscure side fictions.

What, really? Compared to Marvel and DC (especially DC, they use the concept too damn much)?

What would be the main universesi being traversed? I suppose you could have:

    Sunbow G1
    Beast Wars
    RiD
    A/E/C
    Animated
    Aligned Prime or RiD
    Movie
    IDW

There are obviously a few more continuities besides these...but some would be semi-duplicitous (for example, Marvel G1 and Dreamwave wouldn't have a real visual differentiation).
