so ... there are 14 members of the crew on the necrobot planet ...
getaway mentioned that 99% of the crew is with him ...

that means the lost light as a total of ... 1386 crew members

I'm pretty sure Getaway was going for hyperbole, as we already know there's around 200 crewmembers.

    A) Just because his actions are bad in no way negates the fact he makes a really valid point.

    B) It is reasonable for the people who did mutiny to do so, unless they're just pretending to be on his side so they can save Rodimus and Co. later? In which case they're just playing along. I mean is it really that hard to believe Blaster or Hoist would be on his side?

Roberts stated in a Q&A session at the event in England that the entire crew was in on it and that they expect the DJD to just kill Megatron and let everyone else go.

Interesting. That... recontexualizes things a bit. I'm not sure if it makes it better or worse though.

    Ah, there's the source.

It seems very odd that Getaway (and Riptide) would think that after going through a ship filled with the mutilated corpses of the rest of the crew.

    Well that's insanely lazy.

And boy am I getting tired of this habit of writers for going "You didn't see this in the episode/issue, but it TOTALLY HAPPENED." I'm all for interaction and twitter or whatever, but if you couldn't put it in your damn story properly, there was probably a reason.

So basically... just because Team Rodimus is more or less made up of the characters we've come to care about, doesn't necessarily make them in the right, from a narrative standpoint?

It reminds me of the time travel arc, where the Functionalist Future was only worse for the Cybertronian race, but better for the rest of the universe.

I think that is one thing I like about exRID that Roberts could learn from- Barber shows his work. Sometimes it takes awhile to get places as a result, but you see the pieces move into place.

Roberts seems to more be a fan of putting a piece down and ignoring it for 15-20 issues, and the grabbing it and going LOOK LOOK! LOOK WHAT HAPPENED! And then explaining it on twitter. And then apologizing for it on twitter.

Social media is doing bad things to art...let the work speak for itself, Roberts.

I wanna get a few things off my chest here, I'm addressing Resistor here mainly, but also the detractors in general.

Or, it is in the story, and the issue where it comes up hasn't been published yet. Perhaps Roberts just answered a heartfelt question from a fan at an event, maybe being a little misquoted, on a subject he didn't think was a plothole? We all recall the vote right? The Overlord incident? Rodimus throwing a paddy over Thunderclash? His relentless unprofessional behaviour? How about the rest of Team Rodimus? Ignoring Megatron, we have:

A not-a-Decepticon whom killed a bunch of people at Kima.

A famously petty rules lawyer and Arnold Rimmer character whom lied to them for decades.

    A universally hated one-eyed lunatic.

    An ethically compromised weapon designer.

A mouthy barman whom poisoned the crew with bad Energon (so they think).

A lawman turned club bouncer whom attacked the ship.

A therapist whom was giving treatment after being struck off.

A creepy guy with needles in his fingers.

    A famous smartass.

Two girls from Caminus whom never fought in the war and tolerate Megatron as a result.

Its not hard to see how people might not like 'em, is it?

The fact that crew turned on them is a surprise, but it was foreshadowed, and everybody should know by now, Roberts does not wrap up plot threads in neat little bows. Things get drip fed over months. If you don't like that style of narrative, that's fine, but its not actually a flaw.

Weelll... Roberts made it kinda hard to see, because this growing dissent from the crew wasn't shown. Ever. Ok, it was shown once with Megatron, when door to his room was covered in graffitti. Maybe twice when the crew ignored Meg's poetry night (Not sure if this qualifies as one's 100% certain show of dislike, I ignore poetry all the time even if the amateur graphomaniac is someone I like. Poetry's rubbish anyway, not everyone apprectiates such waste of time.)

It's hard to say he was foreshadowing anything when most of the time entire crew was getting friendly at Swerve's.

Roberts DO have problems as a writer with "show, not tell" approach, he can either be not explicit enough or leaving things mostly in dialogues.

Its been established since the Overlord vote people don't like Rodimus. Its also well established that people don't like Megatron. Aside from the obvious and what you mention, there was also the Rod Pod issue, and every conversation about him. People have just forgotten about this, like Rodimus etc, due to assorted quantum weirdness, time travel, personality ticks, mind eaters and so on.

Team Rodimus wasn't paying attention to the crew, and neither were we. This is the rebellion many critics wanted to happen, its just happened later than immediately. So its a surprise. We got lulled into a false sense of security.

There were hints in the background. I mean if you look at the background characters you see Hound, Blaster, and even Bluestreak talking to other characters while main cast are speaking. It would grown even if Getaway was not on board he is just a point man for Atomizer. I still believe that Atomizer is behind the unrest for the crew in fact he is exploiting it. Ratchet disgust for Rodimus leadership was growing ever since Drift got expelled and the breaking point was when Brainstorm got a slap on the wrist. It was established when Ratchet told Rodimus that the list was false before Megatron join the crew.

Team Rodimus was spied upon with Getaway. I mean you see Getaway hanging out with Skids, Nautica and Brainstorm. Riptide, Getaway and Atomizer strikes me as neither trust worthy. I am intrigue what was reason why some the mutineers expect to gain from this action. Despite your feelings toward Rodimus and Megatron some the people are innocents. Like Tailgate you may hate Cyclonus, but the later had no real involvement in the war and he never hurt anyone. It is the reason why it is tough for me see Hound in this group. Hound is about protecting life and innocence as Primal Vanguard. So I really want to know what compel him join the mutineers. Bluestreak outside of Praxus and the fall of it. Swerve is a rival and Bluestreak may enjoy some of the people on Lost Light he still wants to be bar keep. Having two Decepticons walking around is slap in the face but Bluestreak has a personal gain in helping the Mutineers.

Why do people keep mentioning Hound? Has he been established as remaining on the Lost Light for season 2? I can't immediately recall having seen him around.
