Didn’t get mp-10 as I find his arms abit longish. Now this and the new Takara Optimus looks better and cleaner. MS Optimus should match MT despotron better due to their chunkiness

Sooooo, about that trailer? If MP 10s trailer can attach I'm all in and may indeed skip V3 MP Prime. This does look fantastic and if the build/paint quality is there, they have me sold.

 

Was thinking the same thing about the MP10 trailer, doesn't look like it would fit though. But then again that rear need section in alt mode sits quite high like MP10.

In grey prototype this looks the right amount of bulk and cleans up nicely next to today's toon aesthetic. The proportions look wrong though in the digibash, looks too bulky in places. Guess I'll have to wait till colour test shots...

 

I don't see how these two go together. They are both stylized in very different directions, with Despotron looking like an ultra-detailed Revoltech.

He looks more like comic/dreamwave Megs

 

I had a similar thought. Certainly would save them the hassle of making a new one.

Doesn't look bad, but it doesn't really feel like this brings anything new to the table. It's not different enough from MP-10 to join in my Prime collection, and doesn't really seem to improve on him to replace him.

At the moment it looks to me a bit like something that started out in a smaller size and has been scaled up with some complexity added. Would be much improved if they could improve the hips and the back of the truck.

 

Nah. There are multiple 3ps and KO's of both Megs and Prime in G1 as well as various other designs. MP's 10 and 36 have both been.KO'd multiple times. There's nothing preventing an IP case except the fact that it would cost a bomb and be completely ineffective against backyard operators like these.
As for your second point? show.z store, uncle Billy, Baba's eBay store are all Asian based and cheaper than western retailers.
Even more, taoBao is happy to sell direct to foreigners from China at a fraction of the price. The only thing preventing folks from buying stuff cheaper is lack of awareness. I can save on average 40% buying 3P from TaoBao and 30% buying official through Japanese stores.

 

So these guys have announced about 32 legends scale figures without releasing anything and now they're announcing MP scale figures? Maybe they should work on actually releasing something rather than just announcing them.

 

So does is this the first 3rd party MP style G1 Optimus Prime?
Wasn't the Toyworld version a bit too tall and based more on Studio OX aesthetics?

I'm trying to work that out... since it uses oblong windows in both modes like MP-10 I guess the main selling point is the legs?

Well I suppose it'll have one thing over MP-10 - he'll be available. And presumably a lot cheaper.

 

Assuming the trailer is included, I'm sure it will still cost less than Takara's upcoming 35th MP Prime.
