You know, while this Prime looks cool, I almost wish MS would just focus on really nailing their Legends line first, and get those to market. They have some fantastic designs there and they already had a lot shown, to the point you might worry they were biting off more than they can chew. Adding an MP Optimus competitor to that is kind of asking for it.

But hey, maybe I'm being overly concerned and they'll hit a home run on all fronts. I really hope they do well, because I love their designs and the market can always use another 3P :)

Does MakeToys still make Masterpiece-styled figures? Did they make an Optimus? I think I remember an Optimus from them, but I'm not 100% sure. If they haven't made an Optimus, I wonder how an Optimus from them would be?

MakeToys has not produced an MP style Optimus Prime yet. Their latest MP style figure was the Seeker mould (they're currently working on the Coneheads). I have their MP style Jazz, Reflector, Megatron, Hound, and Starscream figures. They're pretty good, not flawless, but good.

They do. In fact, their latest releases are Thundercracker (Lightning) and Skywarp (Skycrow). They're just hitting the Asian markets.

They haven't released an Optimus, but they're working on one. But, it's not a G1 Optimus. It's actually Optimus from Transformers Cybertron/Galaxy Force.

I've bought all their Re:Master figures except their Inferno, and that just because I wanted a different mold for Inferno after going with MT for Grapple. Like you said, they're not flawless... but who is? I'll take a Maketoys figure over a competing FansToys release any day of the week.

What's bad is that I am watching the Galaxy Skycrow, Galaxy Lightning, and Galaxy Manus threads, and I somehow forgot that MakeToys was still making Masterpiece-styled figures...
    Probably. :lol

Ab crunch and double joints confirmed. The biggest complaint I still have about this is the hip skirt. I wish they moved independently and showed off the blue crotch more.

Looks brilliant, not quite full toon with grandpa proportions like Takara will be doing. Looks heroic enough, toon enough and detailed enough. This is what I'd expect from a masterpiece. Lets hope their build quality is good !

I don't see the trailer anywhere, but if this was compatible with the MP-10 trailer, then It's fine. I don't really need a trailer v3.

I would rather they keep the rivets.

But it doesn't matter, so long as this figure uses that hip skirt design, I won't be buying it.

Yep, looks like a second draft of the prototype or something. I also notice a pretty different looking torso including more square-shaped windows.

    Had to color it up:

Looks leaps and bounds better than MP-10 in my opinion:

The forehead looks like it sticks out too far now but maybe that's just the lighting. Looks superb otherwise.

I think these recent adjustments have raised this figure to potential borderline perfection status. I may be in love right now.

As for the lack of hip flaps, I am not sure that is going to be the issue some are worried it will be. It may end up being that this guy is articulated in a manner similar to the Hot Toys Optimus, which has amazing articulation in the legs, despite the lack of hip flaps. Regardless, I love how clean the front profile is on this fig.
