Saw a report of MPM Ratchet being released in Utah, so looked up a few zipcodes online and found stores are receiving him.

I'm assuming he should be on shelves starting now, he MIGHT be register locked, or just saying hes street dated without a lock. Not sure yet, but hes out there!

I'd go hunting for it but then again I doubt I'll find it until the day it is supposed to be delivered from my online preorder...

BTW, if you were able to preorder for a lower price, you can price match to the online preorder price.

Yeah after Starscream’s quick discount (probably to make room for this) I’m gonna hold off and see if we can get this for $60 instead. If not, eh, I skipped Ironhide and Jazz too.

According to Seibertron's article, it's street dated for 10/1. If this is the pattern after Starscream had been out a short time, all the movie MP figures will be out and clearanced in less than a year, providing they intend to get past figures in this too.

Leadfoot was also "street dated" but not actually street dated or register locked. Their handhelds just show the website release date.

I agree. Target took an L with the MP line. I think the lesson learned is that MP prices dont resonate well with casual fans who buy at retail. The hardcore MP collectors that spend the big $$$ get their stuff online. They're not waiting for a US release. Not even the scalpers want these things because who are they gonna sell them to ?

Big agree. The fact that almost every Target i've been at has had Starscream, it doesn't bode well for the MP line at retailers now. I remember everyone mad dashing to TRU for the earlier MP's and MPMs

I just pre-ordered one. I suspect that will be much less rage inducing than trying to toy-hunt during the zombie apocalypse.

I think I'll just stick to my Iron Warrior Ratchet Model. Its more accurate, in scale and I really don't care if bayverse characters transform or not. Thant and, well... I already have it and it's kinda a sideways swap for me. If target clearances this out for $60, i may pick one up.

I wouldn't worry too much. The MPMs all shelf warm in Toys R Us Canada for a long time and eventually get clearance pricing at less than 50%. It's been happening since MPM-3 and they are still selling them.

This right here. There's obviously a market for Masterpiece Transformers, but I don't think Target was the right decision in this case. It's mostly parents that shop for toys at Target, and there is no way in hell they are going to buy their kid, even if he/she is in their mid-teens, a $150 figure, especially during these hard times.

It's weird that HasTak didn't go with Amazon for global sales, and Hasbro Pulse for U.S and Canada. They made MPM Jazz and Megatron Pulse exclusives (I believe. I could be wrong.)

Guess I should have looked at the news feed while I was picking up rent a block away from that Target this morning. Ah well, had it on order for months, would feel kind of hollow having gotten the target ping that they are checking my credit card for funds twice a week at this point had I cancelled.
