Just got him today. I knew he was big but I didnt know he was ginormous!

I like most everything about him except his hip joints/rachets going forward and back. Not too many "clicks".

What an amazing sculpting job. Does he have any issues al a MPM Ironhide?

Like I've said, my copy had some paint chips on the All Spark and broze sloppy paint on the nose of the alt mode. He's actually pretty simple and unlike MPM Ironhide (don't own him, only saw FB groups and video reviews of him) he's not a train wreck in QC or make you want slit your wrists after you transforming MPM Megatron.

I might take his hips apart this weekend and fiddle with the racheting system. Orginally I can only get 3 clicks forward and back. I sprayed some silicone lubricant into his hip joints (externally) and I managed to get 4 clicks out his hips.

Im thinking if I open the hips up and really saturate those rachet gears with the silicone lube, if it would make a difference. I'll let you guys know.

ok, just received mine. After messing with him for a while I have one question in my mind:

what's with takara and freaking weak ankle joints?!

The sculpt and transform on this thing is nice, some pieces are a bit loose (my copy's right knee cap will pop off if you breathed on it)

but the ankle and legs can't hold a pose worth a damn, if you pull out the ankle for any pivot, well, good luck getting him to stand. Seriously, what's with takara and designing insanely weak ankle joints?

that really put the enjoyment of this figure down a few notches for me, which annoys me tons as it's a piece I wanted to look forward to (since it's my least fav megatron figure, I was hoping its engineering and design would win me over) but again disappointed. they can't seem to have strong pivot joints on masterpieces....

The king has finally arrived! I think this is the best MPM so far. The colors really pop - I like the plastic they used and all the areas they highlighted in silver. He's huge and very poseable. Considering how nondescript his alt mode is canonically, they did a great job with the transformation. I'm surprised how well he holds together in both modes.

They've crushed it with both Decepticons thus far - a better track record than the Autobots.

My only complaint is that he had an annoying number of scratches and smudges on his silver paint right out of the box.

he looks cool but sadly the original leader is more in my price point, so I will admire this figure from afar

I absolutely adore this figure. May be my top figure of the year just because I have wanted a good figure of what I consider to be the best portrayal of Megatron in the movies (He was a freaking monster in the first film), despite ROTF being my favorite design for him, and this figure does him justice.

Thinking about pulling the trigger on this guy.....

Worth it? Pretty steep price tag. :/

I know of the hip/ratchet issue, but is it REALLY an issue? Or just an annoyance?

I have held out for the Takara versions on all mpms already, wondering if I should with him too.
Any word on when he comes out?

Not sure, but I do know that no real differences in quality have been reported between the hasbro and takara versions on the last couple MPMs so I think you might just be paying more money for the same toy.

Eh...not too sure about that. My Prime is smooth as butter. Never had any issue whatsoever, even with lining up smokestacks and whatnot.

Either way, I guess the ONLY thing that I'd be hoping for an improvement on is the hip ratchets. So I guess you're right, it's probably better to save a few bucks and go with the Hasbro release.

    EDIT: just purchased! ;)

When the gun and whip are used in robot mode, where does the other hand store?
