i had one at full price and returned him, couldn’t get over the shoulders being mounted in the back which made it very awkward to pose. transformation was fine once you figure out the arm positioning (i documented this somewhere in this thread). i managed to get one nice action pose out of him, but the rest were just unnatural. tempted to get him again tho for $50 just so my mpm line is complete, but the fact that i still haven’t shows you how attached i am to him lol. the others are right tho, as a display piece in a static a-stance, he looks ace.

Always liked him alot! I like all the figures because of all the details they put in to them. I do only use them as statues tho. Always can add the DK-12 kit to lock the shoulders.

I have mine in alt mode. He looks right at home with original trilogy figures.

I'll echo what the majority says in that he's a pain to pose and transform. For $50 though... I can deal... unless you wanna wait for the eventual Black Apple version.

Just transformed mine for the first time to alt mode... one of the most terrible transformations I've ever had. Will put him back to bot mode and that's where he stays.

i would try transforming him a few more times. once you know where everything’s supposed to go, he really isn’t all that bad.

Agreed. The transformation isn't the problem. The tolerances and poor materials are.

Definitely a steep learning curve, but incredible once you’ve figured everything out. Favourite MPM so far, easily. C6AF78EE-A866-4D2A-A258-6A369A9745B5.jpeg

He's grown on me, I think it was a great deal.
I had to use some future on him and now I have fun posing him. I use his movable chest pieces as part of his articulation. As long as you look at him as an alien robot, kind of like the Bay Constructions, and not expect him to be as humanoid as other characters, I think he's enjoyable.

Second this. The transformation of the lower half is super quick, fun, easy and clever. The upper half would be the same if it weren't for the stupid terrible tabs everywhere that seem to hate everything. But once you get the hang of it it shouldn't take more than 15mins.
Hmmm my local comic book shop carries MPMs and I didn't see them have Ironhide recently, although they did have Megs, Jazz and even MPM7.

I do also like ironhide very much! He looks amazing! And with a little paint and some work he can really standout! :)

Yep! I didn’t love it as much as some did but it’s definitely a good thing to have.

$50 is a great deal IMO. I might have to wait and see if Jazz and/or Megatron get as cheap.

I modded my MPM Ironhide’s cannons. I basically broke them open, dremel’ed out a lot of the interior, and glued the pegs back inside. They’re much closer to the actual arm, they look much more integrated into his arms (as they were in the movie), and the extra bonus is that they are much lighter now so the arm panels don’t flop around while they’re attached anymore! Thoughts? Is this enough to warrant a radicons thread? I might add a bit more of the cannon material to cover the gaps but from most angles it looks a lot better now.
