The SS has left me a bit dissatisfied due to the amount of paint work that is needed to achieve the movie look...what is the factory leaked version from tfdirect? Is it a ko? And is it at least an improved version?
Leaked version isnt a ko nor an improvement, iitsjust cheaper than the rretail version, on quality i think its a mixed, just luck having a no problem figure
@World Prime I got the Ironhide piece today. Overall, I’m relatively satisfied with it. It holds the chest in place well enough, though the way the designer molded the piece gives Ironhide a chest orientation that unplugs the bottom from those clips. Also, the arm ratchets are tight enough that the pieces still move slightly, but obviously no where near what it was beforehand. I may get around to painting it, I may not. It’s actually not that visible in most cases. I still want a third party to make a dedicated add on kit to tackle this issue better than this 3D piece, and maybe even address the forearm panels and the horrible panels on the back of the arms. But this piece does what it’s designed to do, which is hold the chest together when posing better than without it. Enjoy. Also if anyone wants more pics, just ask
Pretty sure there's no way to upgrade the panel-y arms and shoulders other than if they would make a new figure entirely. As much as I would like for an upgrade kit, there's no way that it's gonna solve all those problems. There's also that inaccurate wheel placement, which is more accurate on the ss. But this is more of a display piece, so if you pose it and tuck the panels away, you won't see em
Oh wow you have to unplug the shoulders? That doesn't seem necessary. Is the placement that it forces him into at least movie-accurate? And I would definitely suggest painting it. Just give it a quick spray of black and you'll never notice it again. Glad you're relatively happy though! I think if you re-did the forearms (including the hands, which don't open all the way) you'd fix most of the problems with this figure. The shoulder issue can be fixed to a satisfying degree with future, at least on mine.
Yes unfortunately the way it was molded, it forces the configuration to remain like that. It’s possible I’m doing something wrong, but I’m pretty certain I’m not. Maybe the designer didn’t consider that. And yes I will probably paint it eventually! I’m really impressed with the material too. I thought it’d be that usual brittle 3D material but this seems quite durable
Yeah me too! My heavy iron guns were completely intact after being shipped in an envelope from Taiwan. I am also pleased with the material.
to everyone . The panel will tab better to the peg if you shave the peg slightly bit by bit. carefully check each time you shave. It will have a satisfied click sound. Now mine wont unpeg easily anymore.
Mine was just delivered today and I can’t wait to open him up. I’ve prepared myself for the worse but I’ve watched Emgo’s transformation video and the videos about getting the tire on that peg to help with the shoulders so I’m hoping I’ll have a good, overall experience. I’m pretty forgiving with my toys.
