Yeah but blackout is a troop transport, he’d have even more space inside. Plus it’s a way to “cope” that works with the toys and the design, instead of wishing he was bigger for…reasons?

Let’s not act like the reasons for wanting him bigger aren’t valid lol

He is right though. It is just because of "reasons", like I wouldn't say they aren't valid but it basically boils down to "I want Blackout to be that big". Which is all fine and good, but we know Blackout isn't as big as a lot of people thought he was.

I think they made Bonecrusher too large, personally. But it’s fine

The reason is “I want that” so no not really “valid” from a logical standpoint. The figure matches decently to his size in the film, so it’s accurate to the source material.

Personally, Blackout is big enough as is.

Not sure why you’re taking a hard stance on this. There is nothing logical about the sizes in the movies and some people happen to think Blackout should have been bigger. Who cares

Blackout is the only MPM left I’d like to see an OSKO as someone that went OSKO scaled and is rebuilding my MPM collection. But if not I’ll try and track down the official and if it bugs me I can find tiny boxes to use.

Anyways hope he finally goes up for PO soon

I'm not "taking a hard stance" I'm responding to comments. It's fine. The figure matches the size in the film, so it's accurate. Thinking he should have been bigger is fine I guess but I don't see the point of criticizing the figure for it.

Like 99 percent of scale discussions it devolves into personal feelings and misremembering.

I didn’t criticize the figure though. But maybe there was just a misunderstanding

I just find scale as always a bit of an illusion. Perfect scale doesn't exist, and even when the bay movies fudge the scale for the sake of the scene then it just makes scale so unimportant to me. The MPMs are large enough for me and look about right so I don't have any complaints.

I agree with this, the scale to me has always been relative (i.e., as long as Megatron is taller than Starscream who is taller than Optimus who is taller than Ironhide).

But that being said... even if it is accurate, Blackout just feels a little bit too small relative to my impression of him in the movie. But feel is the operative, subjective word here. And it's only a 5-10% difference at most.

The whole thing started when someone said that MPM blackout looked small in the group shot. It wasn’t you though so I’m happy to drop it lol, but also every damn time MPM Blackout is mentioned there’s one person who will inevitably say “Waiting for an OSKO” or whatever and it gets tiring, especially since the size is correct based on the official MPM scale for the Decepticons. MPM scale only gets a bit weird when you get to Ironhide and the other smaller guys. Once Sam took over I think they started to follow the CADS more and really care about scale. That’s my theory anyways. Plus as I said, perspective, posing, etc all play a role.
    I mean…can’t really argue with that I guess…

Yeah I get all that. I personally want an OSKO to scale better with the car bots and the rest of my OS figures. I know a lot of people want it for that. He’s mostly fine with the official sized figures. If anything, he’s slightly less bulky than he probably should be and when he’s next to Bonecrusher, who is a bit wider than he probably should be, it stands out just a bit. I don’t really care though lol

Having handled the Haiku undersized KO, I want to see more small MPM carbots actually. I’d love a new mold for bee but I also wouldn’t mind an undersized KO. Jazz and barricade too (again, unless they’d be getting new molds which I’d be happy about too).

while the Studio Series engineering is a sufficient stand-in for a larger Blackout representation, it is no equal to the MPM.

also my 2 cents on the scale discussion: I also feel that Blackout should be bigger. But after having bought two KO OS figures recently, I'm coming to the realization there's only so big you can go with a figure before it starts to become difficult to wield or even not fun to play with
