I have a lot I could say about g1 being everywhere and the Knight/Bay stuff, but its gone on too long. I will, on the other hand, shamelessly plug the two videos I've done in the spoiler boxes below relating to these subjects if anyone is interested. Spoiler Spoiler I'm real excited for the reveal though! I sleep in late so I'll see it well after its revealed but it'll be the first thing I look up for sure. I'll be messing with my WJ Hide Shadow in anticipation!
Honestly I don't blame BB for going with G1 designs seeing as TLK was only a year before, but I do wish it was a case of the movies being G1-like designs and CHUG/Mainline could still be doing their own and new things (although it does suck G1 characters got thrown into SS because of BW and then just kind of stayed there).
This is easily my most anticipated MPM figure (as if it wasn't obvious from my username ), so I hope they knock it out of the park. I wouldn't mind spending a bit extra either if it means he'll be big, solid, and have plenty of paint applications.
I ask this in all seriousness. What exactly is meant by something being G1-ish? All iterations spring from the original. While aesthetics vary, bots share the same core mechanics. So I'm not sure what people mean or what they are looking for when they say something is G1-ish. It makes no logical sense to me. Anyway, getting back on track. I'm still keeping fingers crossed ot will be Blackout that will be revealed.
They are probably talking about how nowadays the lead characters mostly stick to the same overall transformation and shapes instead of the variety we had in the 00s up to 2015. Like, Bee Optimus is pretty clearly a detailed version of his G1 body, while Cybertron Optimus or Movie Optimus or RID2015 Optimus, despite sharing alot of those traits, taking it in wilder directions.
That or I'd rather them base a Legacy Blackout off of TFA's version (obvious this is his Cybertronian form but still). For the most part I think SS86 being a thing and staying is okay there are pro's to it mainly it draws in G1 fans and they help fund the other LA stuff. In addition it keeps SS alive till more movie/live action movie stuff are done like ROTB and the Cybertron film. The problem is that recently it's become the primarily focus of SS instead of the LA films (I say this as someone who mainly buys the G1 line and SS who grew up with the Bayverse). It seems like that's mainly for this year so that's good and also nice that one of the Hasbro designers for SS on IG confirmed the Bayverse is the main focus still for SS.
Idk I only look at real countries. China is GMT+8 officially so however tbeir timezone falls from there
