Right, but Blackout is. As for Skids… Skids, the idea that anyone can accuse them of “cheating out” or anything like that is completely absurd. The clear plastic isn’t a problem. He feels durable. Solid. Adding clear plastic inserts for his windows would have made his construction needlessly complicated.
pretty sure no such rules here in tfw2005, but I'm no admin more close-up pics of the metal parts would be nice
When i first saw this, i thought we where getting a waspinator with a vehicle mode becouse of the colors.
Maybe the question here is why do they need retail if the standard MP's don't? Really neither here nor there though as Blackout is just too small. I bought him and kind of like him, but he's not up to bumping Hide Shadow off my shelf. Maybe the real problem is that there are numerous OS Prime figures that are nearly perfect, but the official one just isn't and that sort of forces my mpm collection to lean OS. I keep hoping hasbro will do a DOTM version that actually takes advantage of many of the 3P improvements, finally making a return to their scale feel like a valid choice.
i know this is not the thread for it but we really need a funky colored mpm starscream testshot prototype as well, maybe in blitzwing colors
I keep saying it but size isn't an objective qualifier of...Transformers quality. Hide Shadow is literally just a bigger SS Blackout with some extra bells and whistles. I love my SS Blackout but I wouldn't make the sacrifices Hide Shadow does. End of the day he's still JUST an SS Blackout but bigger. Still the inaccurate rotor weapon. Horrific USAF insignia. 4500 Alpha? I am absolutely a geek for military vehicles. It's those little things that will and absolutely do bug me. He's fuckin' 4500 X-Ray, not Alpha. MPM Blackout has most of the important safety and caution labels that the real helicopter would have, and accurate USAF insignia. The little details alone DESTROY Hide Shadow. Because this guy is supposed to represent Blackout AND a "realistic" transforming MH-53 Pave Low, there is no comparison. MPM Blackout blows the rest out of the water.
while I’m reasonably sure mpm is more screen accurate, I like Hide Shadow’s bulky, layered chest more than that flat thing mpm has (again, probably correct). I like the way Hide Shadow’s legs look better (additions the studio series didn’t have), plus the whole thing just looks more bulky and menacing (and not just because it’s a bit bigger). I agree mpm has many small details that are far superior to Hide Shadow. Honestly Mpm has just left me a little frustrated with both of them. It’s highlighted many of Hide Shadow’s shortcomings making them harder to ignore. But at the end of the day I still feel like he has more presence. I’ll probably be equally frustrated if/when we get an OSko of the mpm (which I’ll almost certainly get and will almost certainly be bigger than Hideshadow). the Mpm is great, I’m glad they did him, and I’m glad it makes the choice more straightforward and easy for you. Wish I felt the same.
You forgot that he actually has a fully transforming heli mode with Less kibble too. Plus MPM's chest is way more accurate!
When MP Skids prototype pictures were first posted a while back they were deleted from the thread and we aren’t sure why. That’s most likely why he’s asking.
Right. Another thing I didn't mention is that the diorama piece adds a hump to the bottom of the helo that is absolutely disgusting and horrifically not accurate to the helo. Ugghhhh.
Will probably go to clearance like the other MPMs have. At least in my area. I don't mind paying full though. One of the best MPMs out there, though my experience is only limited to Megatron and Barricade.
