Meanwhile I've been holding out for a definitive transforming version. Was waiting for progress from one of the 3rd parties (TC, ToyLab, or TMT) and then BAM it's Hasbro out of nowhere. Guess they decided to make some money off their own design after all. Hope they knocked it out of the park, especially the alt mode.
Yeah... considering Hasbro according to insiders is very much against making skids and mudflap in studio series, I doubt we’ll ever see them in an MP format.
Agree to disagree. Each one of them has different flaws and neither of them are close to be the definitive version of the character (same goes for first trilogy Optimus tbh), we have the Firescorpion that turned out to be a mess and has weird proportions, the Aoyi KO that it's just an improved SS38 (wich is ridden of ol' BMB QC issues), Freedom leader may be the best one yet if it wasn't because of the transformation and inconsistent quality control. LemonTree it's just good for the size. TransCraft's offering however it's shapping up to be most decent of them yet, and we've only seen a silohuette. Then again, i'm not saying that they're worthless or that anyone should regret getting them, they're still good, but we're far from seeing a truly good MPM Optimus.
I wouldn't mind seeing a version of the twins return without the controversial characterization and faces. I actually quite liked their robot modes, particularly Skids and especially how each had one big 'damage dealing' arm with some kind of gimmick. Bring back those designs/concepts tweaked to act as more typical tough guys with a size complex.
Might just be due to the low resolution on the leaked image but there's definite differences in the smokestacks between the two pics.
The truck mode had better take cues from the voyager, the leg transformation is brilliant and very nicely fresh compared to the usual "truck cab with wheeled robot pants" I would love a better than the third party SS inspired Knightverse prime, especially if it had a trailer option (but didn't come with one, let that be an optional choice.)
If it turns into an actual Freightliner I may bite. I was hoping for a BB Optimus Prime to go with TE Bumblebee.
Not entirely surprising. But I have 3A's and was surprised at how underwhelming I found him in hand. Skipped all the 3P versions. Can't say I'm terribly excited, but it is an official mpm (if it in fact is the real deal), so there is certainly a chance I may pick it up.
If it was the ice cream truck version, I'd be all over it. (unlikely I'd get the regular ones at all) Still disappointed that Black Apple got taken down when he was developing them. I don't see that ever being a big priority for hasbro.
TMT looks to have great altmode although we only have early renders. Based off TMT’s revealed renders of other figures, I’m gonna assume it’ll be quite accurate and detailed

I wanna be excited for this, but the better majority of every MPM release I've bought has been fairly disappointing to me. Still, it's been over a year now since we saw anything but early renders from Toy Lab, and close to a year for even earlier renders from Transcraft, so as far as I'm concerned, an official MPM version is just as far ahead in the running as the others, because the TW, WJ, and LT versions just didn't really speak to me.
There are two modes of thought I have right now - One: HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT THEY'RE FINALLY MAKING THE BEST LIVE ACTION MOVE DESIGN INTO A MASTERPIECE AHHHHH THIS IS THE SHIT AHHHHHHH OH MY PRIMUS... Two: Please don't be actual shit.
That’s why I’m feeling more interested in this because I know it’ll look a lot better than it would’ve looked say, right before the movie came out. And I hope they do more of this just so we don’t have to get a toy that isn’t very accurate to the media. Especially when it’s unlikely we’ll get a MPM-BBBBV2
