Ah... Yeah, I agree with that for sure.
I’ve asked earlier from the person who modded it , it’s still transformable. You are still able to push the ears back. But if there’s a choice, I would prefer to see DNA do a seperate head like phamduc said .
That makes sense, in the videos the clearance looked very minimal for the head. Hopefully DNA Design, or anyone makes a new head, but if not, I'm excited to see future mods for this figure
Might be able to mod it by adding a spring between both ears and 2 tabs to prevent each side from falling out.
I wonder if it's possible to make a back look as good as Freedom Leader without being overly complex? I think the back of Freedom Leader is easily the best part of the figure. Most of the other figures such as the Studio Series figure just doesn't do the back justice.
MPM - 12 just looks nowhere near as good. It follows the studio series figure with how the back is treated. There's also that giant hinge that breaks up the spine making it look less coherent.
If the ThreeZero version is anything to go by, the back of the MPM is way more accurate than Freedom Leader’s, hinge not withstanding.
It is more accurate, but the edges of the truck's front wrapping around it is what ruins the look. Like I said, it's also impossible to ignore that giant hinge on the back.
Freedom leader has the ugliest back, you really say that it looks good when it has 2 giants triangle part stick out on it and make the whole figure look like a hunchback.
MP11 Starscream head.
Yeah i was referring to that.
It's more coherent than MPM 12. Also, if you look at the model from the top, Optimus Prime's back and chest are triangular and not flat. As it is, MPM 12 just looks like it's carrying a giant flat board on his back.
More coherent? lol.
You say one big hinge on MPM12 yet FL has 2 hinges.
and the back surface on MPM12 is nighly the same contour and surface as DLX version.
The flat you saying is basically FL. See that rectangular shape ?
look like a board with details slap on there.
But I will stop before you saying me trying to insult FL any further.
freedom looks like it has some sort of jetpack/wings sooo mpm-12 is better
I'm not saying FL is perfect, I'm saying it does the back so much better even if it's not accurate. Your photos show the giant truck kibble on the back, and the big hinge breaking the sculpt of the spine. In terms of the detail, I totally agree that MPM 12 is more accurate, but even though it's more accurate, other elements get in the way of the look. If they could get rid of the truck kibble seen from the side and the big hinge, MPM 12 would absolutely be superior from the back. Right now, it exists in a weird state where it both looks good and bad at the same time. The other reason I like FL better even though it's not accurate is that it fits well with the aesthetic of the figure. Most of MPM 12 is pretty kibble-free then this big piece of kibble hanging on the back and isn't well hidden.
I don't own FL or want to own it. But it does the back better even if it doesn't look accurate.
Just another unpainted model.
OH LOOK !! KO !!!
So anyways, I think we can all appreciate MPM12 that it's a solid figure to fiddle with and very accurate for what Hasbro could provide, which is impressive regardless of this "back BS" going on here. The back on MPM12 is fine, done and done. Let's move on haha.
Looks better than I thought it would. Might get it.
The only question that matters. I need this guy today!
