Outstanding comparison. Yeah its super impressive, considering it Transforms.

I think a comparison like the above to the Studio Series would be a good idea, just to give people an idea of the difference especially after the MP designer's comments.

To be fair. I understand lots of the criticism. But it all come down to what they can do in the allocated budget. Mpm never has the most of it , every money go to MP on takara side and other.
But i want to say that compare MPM12 to other main G1MP is stupid. MPM never has chance to stand toe to toe with it, straight fact.
But i will say mpm12 is vastly better in term of build than , say , MPM4.
The proportion issues mostly are related to the transformation design, start with they want to use SS38 as foundation. Each body parts form big block of the alt mode, the arms issue can be solved if they separatr the forearm into more parts and engineer the shoulder into more joints to allow shoulder to sit higher. The head issue might have springloaded antenna like how MP11 Starscream has.
But , more plastic , more cost.
I do think the proportion has issue too , but all went away when i play with the figure, it is genuinely a fun figure to mess with , it is truly well built and well engineered , accuracy is really close and im fine with it.

    It’s a little frustrating.
I love the SS. I love the way this looks way more.

It just gets me how they started with the SS, yet now we have static shoulders as opposed to the (nicer) SS ones.

Again, I can overlook the truck panels on the arms.

But one of my favorite features on the SS is how the back of the truck cab folds down to start forming the legs. I loved it, and it’s omitted here.

you can quasi fit the gun between his legs in truck mode. They couldn’t improve upon that concept? Now we have a folded up rifle behind the truck’s cat ears?

I think a prior poster said it best: (to paraphrase) this is somewhere between Leader toy and Masterpiece.

One thing the definitely puzzles me on both this guy and MPM-07 that I don't think has to do with budget is, why the overly blue windows?

Like I get why G1 MP's have them now with 1:1 cartoon accuracy and whatnot, but in the film Bee and clear windows and Optimus, at best, had a light blue tint to them. Just find it odd.

way cheaper than curent G1 MP price line. It's corporated decision , every big figure companies already push price to almost absurb point. Soon 3P will.

So just to add on to what you are saying, I don't want a MP-44 level of engineering, that sounds expensive and exhausting to Transform and mess with. And quite frankly I wouldn't buy it.

The thing I want is a premium quality Generations figure that gets the closest to quality without sacrificing that fun factor and play value. If I want 100% accurate proportions and details I have ThreeZero.

    Ebay:
Companies like DX9 prove you can have involved yet fun transformations that result in stunning robot modes. It all just depends on having a designer that knows wtf they are doing.

to be honest again , the current MP G1 , I still like it , but I kinda not want to transform too much because of the effort to make transformation as complex as possible and I dont quite have time for messing with it. And add to it , the current WFC Figures scratch my itch perfectly that I nearly don't need to buy MP G1 figure anymore. This MPM12 stay comfortably below MP level of complex yet fun and decently accurate, which is what i need

Yeah I've switched over to Genetations for G1 myself, but I don't think Generations has the scale and budget to capture the live action movie details for the Bumblebee movie the followup(s).

The G1 MPs are getting to be way too overpriced....as are 3p MPs. Generarions has been doing a great job of giving the fans modified G1 accurate molds of a solid quality. And for a good price no less.

With regard to this mpm... he looks pretty good to me. If his price point was better...I would bite. But at nearly 180...nah.. to rich for my blood for what it is.

I’m not sure why people keep saying the price is that high. The Canadian price is $170 so the U.S. price will be a lot less than that. Isn’t Robot Kingdom currently selling it for less?

Also the G1 MP prices are trending lower. Skids is under $100 USD isn’t it? And Starscream is under $200 from Japan.
