Yet again, another Starscream where you can see the bot mode right under the plane. Yeah, a little bit more articulation, but really what makes this different from any other Starscream movie figure? Still waiting on a plane that actually looks like a plane all around. not just from the top.
The added articulation may end up tempting me, but that jet mode just isn't any improvement over the first MPM.
HELL YES! Bot mode looks absolutely perfect. A huge improvement in every aspect that I could have wanted. The articulation is excellent, he comes with all his weapons, and HE HAS THE THRUSTERS ON HIS BACK! He can do every pose that Starscream needs to do and I'm so happy for that. Jet mode is...a jet mode. The colors look weird and there's a lot of kibble which is disappointing but honestly I am sooo happy about the bot mode right now I won't let myself get disappointed.
Yeah, bot mode looks great, like he does in the movie, as you put it, jet mode...is another jet mode. It is nothing special and IMO. Hopefully, he is not too expensive for those who want them.
Honestly with how the F-22 is, you really can't Have both, the real jet is just way too streamlined to have a 100% accurate alt mode without sacrificing how the robot will look. The HFTD Leader Starscream is the perfect example, great jet mode but the bot suffers 100% Agree, it's going to be displayed in bot mode 90% of the time for me anyways, but I have no idea what's going on with the funky colors in vehicle form though, should have just stuck with the studio series paint scheme IMO I'm OK with the sacrifices made for that robot mode, it looks like it jumped straight out of the screen
I'm really not, which is why I'm not on the hype train for the time being. To me, a Transformer is 50% bot and 50% alt mode. For what's tagged as a Masterpiece to have to sacrifice half of what makes it a Transformer to begin with kind of hurts the overall package and makes me wonder why they don't just make it an action-master. In hand reviews will definity be able to show the underside of the jet mode a lot more indepth, so I will reserve judgment and decide whether I want it at that point. I am hoping it's better than it appears in this initial showing, because I truly do enjoy the design. If not, well, I have MPM1 and retail release to satisfy my movie Starscream itch. Same.
And yet you seem to really like MPM-1, so my point is if they both have bad jet modes, but this one has a better bot mode, then that makes this one a better figure still. I understand your point though about it maybe not being ENOUGH to make you take the leap, but for me it totally is, since in bot mode this one has everything that the original leader lacked (articulation, sculpt, lack of electronics, all the weapons). I genuinely don't think a really good movie starscream with a clean jet mode and a bot mode this good is possible. The F-22 is the flattest and sleekest jet I've ever seen. So for me I'll take a good bot mode over an impossible jet mode. It would be super nice to see them try even harder but I'm happy with what we're getting relative to what we got. It's still better, and I don't own the old leader mold anymore so this is definitely good for me.
Perfectly fine the bottom being a bit bigger to hide the bot stuff. I just want an official toy to have a good jet and bot mode.
I would like to bring to your attention the following fact: this is a problem with nearly every jetformer ever made. People love to bitch because the movies aren't G1...
