Wow thanks for this! I'll definitely try this next time I decide to transform him.

Random question: do you guys think that if I put silicon oil on the ratchet joints in the legs that they wouldn't click as loudly but still hold poses well? The ratchets are strong which I appreciate but they annoy the shit out of my wife, so I don't handle the figure as much as I'd like sometimes.

I don’t see why that wouldn’t work. I’d use is sparingly though.

I tried it. It didn’t affect the noise at all :(  only thing left would be to shave the ratchet but that would make the figure less stable for sure.

Depends on the type of ratchet. The noise is the teeth engaging each other. If the ratchet is the type that uses two gears that push together with a spring, there's not much you can do. But if it uses an arm that grabs the teeth of a gear, a tiny piece of rubber/silicone will help.

Yeah he’s mostly the spring type. I wonder if coating the tooth with tape or something could help? I dislike the sound, but my wife hates it even more.

Thanks man maybe I'll try that.

EDIT: So I took apart the joints, and realized that the clicking sound is mostly coming from the tooth part hitting the inside of the joint. I installed some thin foam pads in there and now he's significantly less clicky, although still by no means a quiet figure to handle. Plus there are some joints that I just can't get at without splitting some glued parts, or disassembling the whole figure, so I'm just gonna be content with what I did.

Finally got my copy, it is really sturdy and solid.
The first transformation was anything BUT enjoyable, fortunately i got to it from time to time, emgo's video is the only one that has been helpful to me lol. From what i can notice in the video, the transformation is not as hard due the tolerances and the more flexible plastic.
Still for 70$USD shipped it's a goddamn steal. Much better experience than the OS one.
Highly recommended if you haven't gotten this mold yet.

Bumping this up since I just bought a KO F-12 Screamer without the tattoos from TFDirect. I have never bought from this place, but since it was on pre-order and not sold out, I might as well take that chance.

My to-do list is to paint the orange saw blade to it's rightful color, and install the arm articulation upgrades. If this is a straight KO, then that could mean the arm issues people have said from the Takara MPM 10 will pass on to the KO, so I'm going to remedy that with the DNA Kit.

Just a question for all the bayverse geeks out there. Anyone knows which one has the more accurate tattoos? the official or the KO?

I tried googling a bunch of references and can't tell ahahaha

It's weird because one does something inaccurate in one area but the other one is accurate, but the accurate one does something inaccurate in another area while the other one does it accurately...
    Not confusingly worded at all!

He wasn't so shiny and metallic in the film though. I think the colors of the official are more accurate.
I think that might be true for the robot mode too. Try looking at film render stills instead of concept art.

Actually I think the hasbro jet is more accurate to the film’s final design:

Here you can see that the air force logo does get replaced by a second Seeker glyph on the bottom corner of the wing.

Yeah, a lot of the renders and concept stuff and previous toys have spots of the tattoos that are wrong. This is a case where you really gotta look at screenshots from ROTF and DOTM to see.
