Hi all - here is the second gallery of MPB-01 Masterpiece Brave King Exkiser. First, I did some experimentation with lighting this time, which was a mistake... the photos aren't as good as I'd like them to be. Anything that doesn't appear absolutely awesome on this guy should be attributed directly to my photography skills. Also, because I haven't seen the show, the possibility exists that I have created poses (particularly with the weapons, for example) that are not cartoon accurate. Apologies for that. Words fail me to describe KE, though. This is the best TF-related purchase I've made in several years. 100% satisfied. I anxiously await the arrival of Dragon Kiser in the coming months! Packaging, Booklet, and Inserts (42 pics) [from previous post] http://photobucket.com/albums/d21/amspictures/mpb01/ Exkiser (26 pictures) http://photobucket.com/albums/d21/amspictures/mpb01exkiser/ King Exkiser (45 pics) http://photobucket.com/albums/d21/amspictures/mpb01kingexkiser/ And just for fun, here are the originals... Exkiser, you've sure come a long way, baby! http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d21/amspictures/f2d6bef1.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d21/amspictures/cc7df458.jpg
i think the one thing thatd help your galleries is just some slight digital retouching is all great stuff man
Nice gallery, really like this pic http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d21/amspictures/mpb01kingexkiser/20.jpg The pics are a little large, they load fine but are larger than my screen. They look great though. Few questions, Can we see a comparison with a Robotech fig or any TF? How flimsy are the swords? Do they bend easy? Which parts of the figs are die cast? When the little bot is inside the bigger one, does it alter the bigger bots form in any way? Any pieces fall off easily that aren't supposed too when fiddling around with him? Sorry for the questions, really on the verge of getting this guy. Just worried about the quality and future price drop/increase
Yeah, that's my bad. I accidentally set the max picture size in my photobucket account to 512K instead of 256K. Sorry about that - do you know if there is a way I can fix it? All of my TFs are in storage, but I'll see if I can pull one this week and add a pic. If it helps for the moment, I put that Energizer 9-volt in the picture with Exkiser. The swords are hard plastic. The hilt on the smaller sword opens and closes, which is kinda fun. No bendy/drooping problems. I don't have them in front of me, so I'm going from memory... On Exkiser, pretty much just the shins (legs from the knees down), which is great because it keeps his center of gravity low and you can pose him all over the place without worrying about him toppling over. I took those pictures on a fairly soft baby blanket, and still had no trouble getting him to stand. On a flat surface, he could probably do even more. There may be a small diecast piece in his midsection, can't really remember. On King Exkiser, one of the things I think is really fun is that for the most part there are no big "chunks" of diecast, and therefore none of the balancing problems that plague some figures (MP Convoy for example). The legs are diecast, as are parts of the arms, but overall the metal parts are well integrated throughout the entire figure. No it doesn't - which was not that big of a deal on the original, which had literally no articulation but the elbows! He can squeeze right in there and it causes no impairment to motion in the arms or legs. Really creative. Not one. I pulled off one of Exkiser's legs (ball joint) while trying to put him into an overly-dynamic pose, but that was my fault. Totally understandable. While I'll admit I am predisposed to liking most TFs regardless, I can't find anything specifically negative to say about the engineering of the figure, other than I would have preferred him to be much larger. I guess you could say that the alt mode is a bit of a cop-out, as it's just basically him lying down all folded up (ala Star Convoy), but it's true to the original in that respect as well.
I wouldn't worry about not seeing the show, few people outside of Japan have. One group did start subbing it a fair few months ago but they've only completed a handfull of epiosdes so far.
I have my Photobucket pic size set to 1024 kb, but you can resize them by clicking on the edit tabs over each pic. 700-1000ish is always good for gallery pics. Thanks for the info btw, just ordered one from Digital-Toys. Gawked at your pics for atleast an hour or so lol He just look so fun and imagine he'd look awesome displayed with meh Macross. Thanks again for all the pics
