This is probably KO since it's a China version
If the it is better quality and cheaper priced than the original official then I'm cool with that. That has been the trend with KOs the last couple of years.
Everytime I look at the Rodimus alt-mode I'm convinced that the spoiler needs to slide forward. It even looks as though it should.
what is Long Life Design logo?
Never had this mold in hand ... there’s no way to improvise this?
It's the transformation that really vexes me - his Rodimus Prime mode is essentially a shell-former, with 90% of it being done by the trailer. I'd like an MP Rodimus v2 with a figure that actually properly turns, if not into the full vehicle, at least into the proper cab of the trailer, instead of an ass-forward folded up mess.
Good Design Award
Takara Tomy wins Good Design Long Life Award for Transformers Masterpiece - Transformers News - TFW2005
It's a Japanese industry award that TakaraTomy won for Transformers about a year or so ago (logo first showed up on MP-36 Megatron's box, IIRC).
Thanks for the answer RE: Long Life Design
regarding his ass-forward cab mode, we never saw Roddy in cartoon transforming from his....
Ass All The Way Up
It's still his front hood chest either as Hot Rod or Roddy.
I was considering getting this but those garbage elbow flaps from the Hasbro version are a deal breaker. If I'm going to buy this mold yet another time, it had better be a flawless version of that mold. And that change to the elbows was just so unnecessary and such a downgrade. The elbows were the most solid part of the original Takara releases!
I wish they would reissue MP09B as well. That one I would buy even with the V2 Problems.
The colors are just gorgeous.
MP 09 is a pass though. Worst MP I have ever owned. Zero, zero play ability.
Rodimus Prime is now the official Transformer of putting your face down and your ass up
I had the same thing happen. I bought a V2 (checked the stamped codes on the box and everything....I did my homework on it). He was fine out of the box (spoiler still didn't clip well) but I put him right back in the box because we were knowing that we were going to move. I took him out a year later right before we were about to move, just to check him out and his arm was loose in the clamshell just flopping around detached from the body.
The problem is they put a very thick spring in the shoulder joint and the plastic around it just can't take the pressure over time. It cracks and blows the arm off. I replaced it with a thinner, lighter spring and put it back on but it's clear why it happened. Unless they replaced those springs in design with a smaller one, I suspect it'll happen again to the new ones too. The knees were supposed to have issues on V1 but I haven't had that issue yet. His other arm has stayed on too so far but I have a replacement bolt and spring assembly in case I ever need it.
Takara Transformers Masterpiece MP-09 Rodimus Prime. Preorder. Available in December 2018.
Pre-oder up on BBTS too! for $229.99
Transformers Masterpiece MP-09 Rodimus Prime (With Collector Coin)
I’m surprised it’s not $440.
That's reserved for the V2 figure.
He\'s something to look at for sure! Price point is high.....but then again, what transformers aren\'t overpriced these days. I don\'t have a MP rodimus
so I\'m guessing I\'ll be shelling out some dough for this. It\'s like crack or heroin to a TF fan. I need a transformer rehab facility PRONTO!
Don't joke like that. I'm really concerned now about v2 Rodimus's price. They'll put in 43 accessories and charge $550
