I always thought that if they did a toy-accurate Megatron, they would just make him chrome or metallic and call it a day. I really like what I see, and I hope he still has the regular head to swap out the toy-accurate head.

I might want to get both of these figures. And who knew that the + could also refer to toy-accuracy as well? I guess the + really means extra or something like that.

The Chinese KO companies stole the CAD files from Takara to make their botlegs. Those CAD files included Takara's designs for a toy-accurate face and chest, which they are using in this long-planned release.

Wow what a day!! Glad the line isn’t dead. Hope these are funding some nice new G1 moulds with expensive license fees! Might need that Shockwave but ouch at the price.

I noticed BBTS listing says with coin. So Hasbro Asia distribution confirmed? The TT Mall listing usually says if it will have a wider release too, but not checked yet.

    Mother Trucker!

Hope I can exchange my Lilac Shockwave.

Or Maybe I'll sell my MP29 then buy a cloud9 Quakeblast, then give Takara the middle finger for their new double dip business model.

Correct. Was reported by a few sources in the KO threads the G1 toy face and chest were Takara designs. The smirk face too. Nobody seriously thought the KO companies had the imagination to come up with those, did they? Also explains why every KO company had them and they were available loose too. Wonder if there’s a chance the smirk face for MP-36 comes with this + release, like the UM faces with Delta? Maybe not as there was some talk that part design was discarded by TT rather than reserved for another release.

I'm curious if the lines on Megatron's chest will be tamp graphed on or will actually be etched into the plastic?

So, the Shockwave we should've gotten in the FIRST place. Also, is it only me, or... was the G1 Megatron toy's waist NOT those colors? (Also, THF/Magten somehow got their hands on Takara's CAD files, because that G1 head and chest came with my KO Megs several months ago)

Yeah, looks like Exhaust was a double agent!

They are most likely etched, as the KO copies are.

Having those KO parts in hand (regrettable purchase), I'd say that the extra Megatron facial expression was discarded before final refinement. It doesn't look that great in person.

I had absolutely no interest in MP-36...and then they drop this. So beyond gorgeous and I CANNOT wait to get it. Almost cracked for one of the KOs with the toy head but so glad I didn't.

So pre-orders for Shockwave are $209... does that mean Megatron will be $5,678.45?

The fact that BBTS (and probably TFS, TCP, etc.) are offering MP-29+ with the coin means they are getting their stock from Hasbro Asia. It's probably not going to be on Amazon JP. I am wondering if this will see a U.S. release through Diamond Select, like MP-17+...

Looks great. Still, Not gonna buy it at that price.

I've got Qaukewave and Quakeblast. The Cost of these is still no where near 210.00

Yeah, I'm happy for those who wanted this mold in this color but that price is just ridiculous. Between the hiked prices and the fact they're milking every mold with a "+" version instead of new designs, TT is just driving me further and further away and into the 3rd party to complete my display (which, I'm not going to pretend otherwise, I'm totally fine with.)

Don't want the toy Megs regardless but I'll be keeping my Quakewave V1 as my Shockwave. Dark purple? Check. Silver metal parts? Check. Black hose? Check. Big honkin feet? Check but I'm ok with that over the tiny dancer feet the official has. To each their own of course but I was intrigued for about 15 minutes and then it passed. Don't need it. As many said, this is what they should have done originally color-wise.

Neither will I. I wasn't impressed by the in hand quality of MP-29. Not worth it to me at that price.
