I think 36+ is calling to me because I always imagined "box art" G1 Megatron as a completely different character than cartoon Megatron. Like, colder and more logical and less concerned with personal power, but still thoroughly evil. It's not even a "character" that I liked more than cartoon Megatron, but he's still been in my head for a long time. So, seeing him come to life in the photo of both versions together is really tugging at a different nostalgia than my (still far greater) cartoon nostalgia.

BTW, and there's 0% chance of this ever happening, but does anyone else think it would be cool if TT ever tried to make truly toy-accurate MPs that captured the G1 box art style, crazy proportions and all?

 

First thing\'s first: the decepticon butt plates; funnier that I was prepared for.

Now then, the writing is on the wall for them to do the same for Optimus, but you know they aren\'t going to announce it until the version with $150 in extras plays out first.

If I was secure that said Optimus was happening, I\'d take steps to get this guy. They make a great power duo  in a weird what G1 was trying to be way.

 

Yeah I forgot about those extra heads. Still not a huge fan of the whole toy thing. Might be nice to have one in chrome without the read and the little swirly lines on the chest. Kind of like how it would look if the cartoon stepped out of the TV in real life metal. But that new MP designer wants to do the exact opposite and make it look like real metal objcts stepping into the TV and looking over cartoony. Cant say im a fan.

All that toy goodness in the pictures and yet the gun barrel is left in the cartoon position.

 

This may end up being my favorite MP to date. I never realized how “pro toy” I was when it came to MP styling. I guess bc I spent way more time playing with TFs as a kid than watching the cartoon ?‍♂️

The Decepticon symbols on the butt look awful. I hope those are stickers.

The rest looks great. and SO much better than the toon version.

 

If I could justify dropping that much $$$$$$$$$$ on this I’d so get it. It looks fantastic, ass insignias and all.

 

Imagine having Decepticon logos tattooed on your Butt cheeks. that is some dedication to your cause.

Love the red and the chrome but that head is a bit of an eyesore. I miss the days when mp figures would cherry pick the best aspects of toy and toon and mix them together in one.  

 

He comes with a "toon" face to switch for the head if you don't like the toy face.
