Heh and I wasn't trying to be negative in mine and I'm not dismissing your post, however I know that if I were to continue this conversation I'd be accused of repeating myself and failing to find something positive to say.....not that you haven't already done that ;)

I do appreciate what you are trying to do however with all due respect you're not pointing out anything I don't already know or can't observe myself. Seeking to explain why something is the way it is does not change the way it is any more than me complaining about it. The long and the short of it is beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I'm not beholding much beauty from that which catches your eye.

    Oh, I dig it brother!

It's not something I feel I need in my collection, but I love that it exists, and I hope to see a lot more options like it in the future.

This really tickles my nostalgia bone.

Also brings back the feels I got from the early MP line before it got all toon accurate.

Tampo decals ruin the look for me. Should have been optional stickers IMO

Amazing how it looks like a completely different figure, even though it just has different paint apps and a few remolded parts.

Omg this thing is so bad ass. It worries me thought that they will do the same treatment to the new Prime, damn that’s another 450 Bucks!

"Transformers never stay the same, and they keep on advancing. Please look forward to their future!"

Back in my day, Sam, the bots would move our arms and legs until we resembled vehicles. We also contained die-cast. Yes sir, we were the perfect mix of organics, metals, and other influences.

Really debating it now for nostalgia purposes. I remember getting Hasbro Megs at a Rockbottom pharmacy when I was a kid.

My biggest gripe is still the neck area that's non-chromed and just flat colored. I get why it's done that way, but ugh, it just stands out so much next to that shiny chrome....

Yeah man, long live the + line in bringing more toy repaints like this. No interest in MP-39+, but those who had the G1 toy deserve a repaint like this one. Sign me up for a Galvatron+ too.

It's all about that nostalgia. This does even more for me than a MP-5-esque deco would.

If that really is your preference then tampos aren't usually that hard to remove (a combination of a hard eraser and isopropyl). I do not dig stickers on MPs so much, mainly because they never look as good as a perfectly applied tampograph. I've gotten used to them through MP-29 and MP-30, though.

I don't get the reference, but I want to :)  Fill me in!

Almost 21 months between MP-36 and MP-36+, so I guess we've got until May 2021 to save up for MP-44+!

Back in my day, Ponyboy, I wanted my G1 Ironhide toy to have a head like in the cartoon. Just any head would do...

Although they could've gone with the same paint as on the legs all over the body on the bits which aren't chrome, I prefer the greater contrasts between the two tones. Not as much of a contrast as it looked like we were going to get on earlier photos, in these shots it really looks like the perfect balance.

It really is. Side-by-side I really feel like both versions can easily warrant a place in one collection, because they look different enough. I'm actually surprised by how much. The smaller toy-accurate face almost seems to alter the proportions of the whole figure.

Sorry for folks who would've preferred a blend of both paint schemes in one figure, but double the Megatron is double the fun.

Oh, just the old ('70 - '80) microman japanese commercials. They always ended with that booming line (same as the old diaclone commercials ending with "DA - IA - CLOONN!!!") and obviously old Meggie made his first appareance in that toy line ( the micro change sub line, to be precise...). THIS toy, here, brings me back straight to that wonderful time i saw those toys and commercials long ago when i was just a little child fantasizing about wonderful japanese toys!

I think I prefer MP36+ over the original that I own.

Balls! - It's is the MP29 situation all over again.

Agreed. And I would love if they used some of the engineering here and made a 1:1 scale browning.
