Return of Convoy...Star Convoy, then?

 

I'm going to be pretty disappointed if it's another Optimus, whatever form/version it is. Not everyone cares to have 75 examples of the same character on their shelves.

Megatron reborn as Galvatron  

why would they give us another prime just does not make sense

 

Perhaps a new Optimus, just not a prime? a Primal perhaps?

As already pointed out on this thread ...

Optimus/Convoy = leader
Megatron = leader
Starscream = leader ( with exception of the repaint's )
Dinobot = leader
Rodimus = leader

So don't you all think it make's sense that the next one WILL be Galvatron? all have followed a pattern ie: commander's/leaders from the movie

Shockwave we all wish but very much doubt it ..Soundwave fully wishfull thinking and also very much doubt it as the alt mode just not going to please everyone

if the hint is actually the "reborn" bit then why would that mean another optimus?? c'mon people pmsl!! the only one that was reborn was megatron into galvatron.

 

Because this is the MP 01L, as in, the LAST MP 01. So for those "mourning" the mold, you don't need to, for it shall be "reborn".

You dont know how much I wish you were right. That would be my first MP Optimus. Then perhaps a MP version of BW Megatron and Dinobot as well. But looks like that will only remain a dream sadly.

 

i'll eat my mp 01L and post up a youtube link here if it's a new mould of convoy/prime ..why make another one just to re-release/repaint 10 thousand time's again sound's a bit odd and stupid to me..how can you improve on what was pretty much perfection??

Interesting. If it's a screen-accurate Masterpiece movie Prime, I for one will be all over it.

It's hard to see which other version they'd go for (except maybe Galaxy Force Convoy). Like it or lump it, the only versions of Prime with "iconic" status are the G1 and new movie versions; the other iterations are only known to the fandom. Would Takara really spend the money developing an Masterpiece Convoy from Beast Wars, Armada, etc? TakaraTomy's still a business, even if lines like MP are skewed towards fans; they must be keen by now to have another MP similar to MP-1, that might get exposure & sell beyond the fanbase..

Although, I would probably buy a repaint of Buster Optimus Prime, to make him more screen accurate. I would be disappointed. I would much rather see Galvatron.

 

I kind of doubt it would be movie Optimus, only since the movies HAVE a masterpiece line as well (MMP) as so a masterpiece movie optimus would probably be put in there.

That leaves either redoing G1 Optimus, or do a Beast Wars Optimus, in my opinion. \bias

Again, in before those detractors and naysayers, here are something to chew on:

Think of mp01.
Take all the design cues and stylize it for modern sensibilities.
Still a flat nose cab to retain it's iconic stature.
Some modern elements incorporated into the chest designs.
Streamlined the angles.

I agree. Is there something wrong with the one we have now? It would make no sense unless it was some other variation of prime aka movie/animated/bw which we already have fairly definitive versions of.

 

If it IS another Optimus, I hope it sells like crap or gets straight boycotted by the fans(yeah right lol). I am sick of OP and bumblebee sucking up huge numbers of releases in any given line. I know why that is the way it is, but I don't have to like it.
