I bought a KO MP Ratbat because I didn't want Soundblaster, and I'm perfectly okay with it. There's no way I'm buying this whole set for the asking price, but if Takasa Tomy wants to bootleg it, I'll give their stuff a shot. Cue the knockoff/IP theft argument...

 

Ugh are we really going to derail this thread too with KO rationalizing. The damn things were just announced. "I sure am excited to get the knock offs!!!" I mean... cool. I am pleased that you are going to be happy. That's cool. But it honestly feels rude to come in here bragging about purchasing knock-offs. It seems irresponsible. Do you not feel ashamed? It's stealing. Do you not care? If you're a poor college student and you want to get these still I understand that. I burned DVDs back in the day. But I never bragged about it or flaunted it for all to see. It was my personal collection that I only showed to the girls that came up to my dorm. I just don't get it. Unless you're purposefully trying to piss people off, and get an argument started. Then I understand completely.

Good point. Steeljaw has quite a colourful tape design compared to the others, so we'll have to wait and see.

The comic is from one of the Generations Books. The owner of Soundwave's Oblivion actually translated it at my begging using my scans!

It's actually 100% the design of G1 Stripes, not the MP at all. Look at the position of the '60' on the body rather than the inner foot. Most of that comic uses MP designs though (on my phone now but if you look up Stripes on TFWiki it should link you to the comic).

 

I just want Enemy and Stripes so I'll wait for them to pop up on eBay or Amazon.

 

Slightly immoral, but not irresponsible. It's not like KOs are a big secret and that talking about them in official threads will expose the business.

Plus it's a natural reaction, releases like this make us all feel like broke college kids. But then the price is no surprise, these are random nobody tapes that appeal only to completionists and Transformer cassette fans, they were destined to be expensive exclusives. Even a potential KO release will still cost more than most will want to pay.

Yeah, I think I paid about $30ish for the reissue sets from Japan last month, so this for $96 isn't horrible. We'll see what the Hasbro Asia set costs from BBTS et al. in a few weeks.

 

All I want is the Tiger and the Bat.

And if you have issues with people buying KOs, Cry my a river. Then build a bridge and Get Over it.

As weird as it is to see Nightstalker before Steeljaw, at least we can assume that Steeljaw and maybe Blaster aren't too far away from being announced. But I hope we get a few more Autobot Cars and Minibots before the end of the year. At least announcements on them would be good.
