I've got to make a list of what I'm buying this year.

    There's

    Masterpiece Wheeljack
    Masterpiece Bumblebee
    Masterpiece Starscream
Masterpiece SoundBlaster (Hopefully I can just buy Ratbat)
The Entire Age of Extinction line
    Deluxe Generations Tankor
Super Smash Bros Wii U (Whenever that is released)
Simpsons lego sets (depending on what sets are released)
    And maybe more stuff.

Yeah, so, that looks pretty much perfect and exactly what I hoped for. Nice. :)

Best way is to pay with a CC that doesn't charge a foreign exchange fee and then pay in actual yen by choosing the other conversion method option. You'll get a better rate than PayPal that way.

So nobody else is bothered by the undersized windscreen in car mode?

Nope. It's a little small yes, but it still captures the overall shape of the windshield and the door windows of the actual car (comparison on page 26)

I think they focus more on the Robot mode than the car mode. But this is what Wheeljack is suppose to look like in the G1 cartoon, not like the original G1 toy.

Looks like the ear will be opaque after all since clear plastic was used only on the windshield. So no light up feature. So what color to paint it? Grey? silver?

I bet people will be over the roof when they see this figure with the finished paint job.

You know, Wheeljack's probably the most important Autobot yet to get an MP outside of Prime, Grimlock, and Rodimus. He was far more prominent in the show than any of the other car bots we've gotten so far (as beautiful as they are). I'll have to make sure he's displayed accordingly.

Also possibly because his licensing is hard to obtain. Unless Porsche is the hardest to get.

    Bothered?
    No.
    Noticed? Yes.
The entire bonnet/cabin has been shrunk (especially on the sides/side-windows and depth) some small amount. This all benefits the robot mode, and the car still maintains its recognition (and sexiness!), so it's okay with me.

There are two dozen things to not like about the figure (as we've seen it so far) --the bar on the upper arm, the lack of heels, hollow feet, etc. -- but concessions have to be made to make this thing possible at an affordable cost for a mass release. To make a figure that looks like the animation model as a bot and an exact replica of the LS Turbo in vehicle mode would be impossible. The "hand guards" (which should be plank extensions of the dorsal forearm) bother me more.

So far, it looks 9/10 to me, and surprisingly impressive.

Boy, are VW fans gonna kvetch when they see 'bee's proportions! There's no way to make him look more like his show 'bot mode without distorting the vehicles proportions: The cabin will have to be smaller & shorter, the front will have to be stretched in some parts, the outer width will have to be narrower, and the gradient on the rear will have to be much steeper.

That'll be a fun thread to read, if there are as many VW sticklers as there are Lancia Stratos fans!

By and large it's pretty good, but the stratos is a tiny car. If you made one with a canopy that small nobody over the age of 7 would be able to fit inside. The windscreen stops roughly at chest level for an adult. It just leaps out at me as blatantly wrong and I can't unsee it. It's just not up to the standard set by the Lamborghini and Datsun molds.

Really hoping the pic is just misleading somehow. I really wanted to love this guy :(

    From WHO?

    Wait. Right door opens?
    Chip Chase figure accessory?
    Sparkplug figure?

I'd love a brainy cripster figure.

Damn, now you've got me thinking how much I want an in-scale (1:28 - 1:35): Jessie, Carly, "O", Chip Chase, Sparkplug, Jessie in aerobics swimsuit, Dr. Archeville,...
