Niles is my store, and they did have two dozen MP Primes one day and then none the next... They were all up top in brown boxes.

I hope I can get MP Soundwave without issue... I wish the stores would limit one per person like online. I just want one.

 

Dammit, couldn't get past the checkout to ship to the UK. Fortunately via a friend I've managed to score 7 for myself and my mates. Probably bang a couple on the 'bay too.

While this is not a surprise, I do find it frustrating. The demand was known for this masterpiece (by Hasbro and TRU) and should have been planned for better. It may not do anything, but it will only take a minute of our time to each send an email to the corporate management of Hasbro/TRU about the situation.

 

Yeah, I just took a swing by there myself and they said it was only available at SDCC right now. I helpful piece of info I got is that according to what they've heard from corporate, this isnt going to be an MP Optimus situation where they got 1 case. Supposedly there are going to be about 4000 units in the North East alone. Hope lives on...

 

I'll just reitterate what I said a few days ago, everyone be patient who didnt get one. It's been hours. They will show up online again. They will show up in stores and in good numbers. Yes you may have to call a few TRUs. Yes you may have to show up at opening on truck day. But most people will find one with just a little effort. If you are panicking because you are pissed, you aren't helping the issue and just setting yourself up to be bitter even whej you eventually find one.

TRU WANTS to sell you these. They want to sell you as many as possible. This is a relaunch nd rebrand of a line. They won't be absurdly rare.

 

MP Soundwaves are like buses. You miss out on the first one, there's always the next one.

 

The current situation is: MP Soundwave sold out.
Outcome: MP line is successful, therefore they should make more next time.

Boycotting: MP Soundwave doesn't sell well at all.
Outcome: MP line is unsuccessful, possibly due to character possibly due to price. Hesitation with releasing more MPs if at all.

 

Man Im not getting anything done! Juuuuust about to say fuggitabowdit and place a BBTS order. Anyone have a total for that with tax + shipping?

 

And im sure the ones on ebay you'll sell for retail + a tiny finders fee and free shipping right? ...

 

Local B&M TRU in Schaumburg, IL, had none and didn't seem to know anything about it, really. They checked in back and nothing.

Most depressing thing that happened was the mini 'hold me back!' slapfight between two people over perceived cutting in line.

Insults were exchanged with minimum physicality and then each called the police. 4 cop cars rolled up.

All that to be first in line to find out they had none.

There's a difference in charging a high price for a rare figure that was made years ago and won't be made again and buying a figure only to immediately turn around and sell it for near double it's retail value. It's bullshit. That's scalping. You are limiting the supply in order to profit by it. It's intent. I have no problem paying $700 for an original Overlord. Fair enough, I didn't get him when he was out over twenty years ago and no he's rare and expensive, price of doing business.

But I would rather pay $225 for a Takara release along with Takara tapes at BBTS, then pay $220 for this Hasbro exclusive that some asshole bought in order to scalp. Opportunistic scumbag. Can understand and appreciate, but I will not condone. And it is that which kills a lot of the fun and interest in this hobby

However before anybody gets jealous I'd say to take that with a grain of salt. I had an fe starscream cancelled after reaching that stage. :/
