Been waiting for this for years. Hopefully the shoulder canon lights up.

Unless they follow suit for what they did for Sunstorm.

Or every other repaint the MP line has had?

The randomly odd things we hope for...

Again, I think that MP-10 and his "no electronics gimmicks" design has set the standard for all future Masterpiece figures.

Maybe not soon, but it'll almost certainly come along someday (unless this whole Transformers boom passes and Takara ditches the line). Takara has never been able to resist a black repaint (hell, they even did a black Rodimus repaint, and Black Rodimus isn't an established character with actual screentime). Not to mention the ability to double-dip on a pricey MP mold. But yeah, I could see it being staggered after another repaint or two (Magnus, maybe?) and probably one additional new mold.

Personally I hope for no electronics. They just add to the cost, occasionally hamper the design (though not always) and run the risk of having batteries that decay inside the figure. The only MP mold for which I'd like to see electronics would be Shockwave (if they ever did him)... but that has more to do with the strong nostalgic pull of G1 Shockwave's light and sound effects.

No electronics for me either. As long as the sculpt is fantastic, with plenty of articulation, an a kickass LB that's able to store in his chest cavity Takara will have answered all my prayers an wishes.

Man, if they do get around to Ultra Magnus I really, really hope to see a Powered Convoy as well. Sure, it'll be an eHobby [or Amazon.jp as the new trend goes for whatever reason] exclusive but I'll own two or three of him alone.

As for the electronics, I agree, the matrix lighting up was neat in MP-01 along with the other MP who had light gimmicks... but these smaller scales would limit where wires and batteries can be placed and would likely hinder transformations and articulation. So yeah, no lights or sounds are needed for bookcase display piece.

People still talking in absolutes, and using the past as an example, when Takara have indicated they're looking to push the line harder.

They've inferred plans to release the other four original tapes in fairly short order.

(IMO) Ratbat shouldn't be missed either...... Now, would a Soundblaster repaint with Ratbat be enough to coax people off the fence?

Beastbox and Squawktalk for this guy. But then, I need no further incentive to buy an MP Soundblaster than Soundblaster himself.

Sadly you're right, they have to get as much value out of the mold.

Ratbat? hmm now we're talking so long as Ravage / Rumble come first!

I agree with both your points. No need for electronics except for a future MP Shockwave. With the extra push given to Shockwave in the last few years, he has to be on the cards or else 3rd party will be all over him.

Well, unlike the others, we haven't even seen a resin proto for Ratbat yet (assuming they're going make one) so.........

No, I want a Ratbat but I don't want Soundblaster to be the one he comes with. If it was Beastbox and Squawktalk I might be more inclined to buy Soundblaster

There is no way in hell I'm paying another $170+ just to get Ratbat.

Soundblaster is an easy pass for me. And as far as cassettes go, while I love them all, I'd be content with Ravage and blue Frumble (along with LB, of course).

Ya know... seeing how there was only 1 frumble and no ratbat in the display... what are the chances of THEM coming with Soundblaster?

His shoulder cannon looks like it folds back and down for transformation.

Even if a MP Soundblaster just came with a Garboil, or Howlback, or Enemy....i'd still buy it.
