Soundwave is a pretty basic design for an MP, and not in the way that a complex transformation can make a clean, low surface-detail figure liek Rodimus. Soundwave is kinda boring design and transformation-wise, and I don't think I'd buy a guy who literally turns into an unmoving, unattractive block. Unless he comes with his babies, and even then they better be damn impressive.
Life size tapes would be way too big. I want a MP Soubdwave first but I'll take a Galvatron if that's what they decide to do.
I love soundwave, and want a MP, but tapes? really? Give me his minions as targetmasters or as individual bots that store/interact with him somehow, but leave the tapes in the 80's

Ditto! Actually, their cassettes are life-sized cassettes. If you've seen minature tape recorders, their tapes are the same size. Their generally called micro-cassettes. Hence, where we get the cassette cases from for our little minions. That said, I've often thought about creating a Masterpiece Rumble/Frenzy using a regularly sized cassette tape. Not sure if a fully-functioning one can work though. I haven't seen a cassette tape since I tossed out my last one this past winter! LOL!
I want MP Soundwave more than any other possible Masterpiece figure. And since I pretty much only buy MP and not any other Transformers anymore, that means I want a MP Soundwave more than any other possible figure, period. Make up for the simpler design by including a couple of tapes, preferably Laserbeak and Ravage.
Judging by the avatar and signature, you come off as one who generally despises Galvatron. Anyway, I would rather have an MP Soundwave than Galvatron.
But that's the thing. The way I see it, is that because Soundwave is so simplistic, I see no reason that we can't get his tapes with him! (Ideally I'd like Ravage, Rumble, and Laserbeak to come with him, then Frenzy and Buzzsaw repaints sometime down the line).
Only way Soundwave would work is with plenty of tapes. Then again he could also be milked by having the obligatory Soundblaster repaint with an exclusive tape, and an added tape pack (with repaints of course). IMO if they really want to step up an MP gestalt is needed.
Heck yeah I am also for an MP Soundwave. Make it so that he is an MP3 player (not like Music Label Soundwave) and have his MP3's come from the USB Device Label Ravage. Not to mention built-in speakers. Maybe I'm thinking too much here.
